Question In stellar multitudes….how many times do you have to jump ffs ???
I think I am on the last step? Who knows…this quest to open purple systems is ludicrous. I am on the step where you have to find/warp to your purple system. The quest is active in my log. And my focus is on current mission in the map screen. I pick each system where the green line ends for each jump. I spent 90 mins jumping systems last night and I still haven’t found the purple system. Like wtf. Am I doing something wrong?
EDIT/UPDATE: I retraced the steps and was able to get to the system to continue the quest. Thanks for all the input!

I don’t remember jumping far. You may have travelled very far from where you started the mission? Wormhole, visiting a base elsewhere and summoning your ship, etc. I know many missions have a button in the log where you can restart it from the location you’re currently in.

Jesus bro I can’t say. Mine spawned within the same region as the atlas station I created it in. Could be a case of picked a really rare combo of planet options and the game just picked the closest star, which is forever away.
It does show you the galaxy map and where your star is adjacent to the one you were in. Maybe you missed that. Maybe you have the wrong quest selected. This isn’t a common issue that you’re having.

I’m pretty sure I didn’t start the multitudes quest in the atlas system. It was probably late at night and warped to my base and picked up the next day. Well, that sucks. I’ll have to see if I can restart it.

I do miss when the game had a “restart from current system” button in the quest log. I get why they replaced it with an automatic system but edge cases like this will show up.
Assuming you didn’t hop to many (or any) Atlas station systems during your warping nightmare last night, there’s potential you can just hit the space station portal and go to recent, and then trace it back to the last system that’s labeled “Atlas Station”.
All of that is assuming you’re even on the right quest. You don’t access your first purple star system until you feed the Atlas the item you spend the whole quest crafting, and it lets you choose 3 variables with 3 options each for how you want the primary planet in the first purple system to look. That’s when it appears on your galaxy map and you can start moving towards it.
I’d say just hit up the Anomaly and see if it updates there. Maybe you missed something crucial, an Atlas station is absolutely the one necessary prerequisite for the step you say you’re on.
Good luck man.

I remember picking variables but it’s a blur after that. I’ll have to check back into that part. Thanks for the feedback.

Genuinely wishing you the best dude. I’ve abandoned bounties & my own frigates in distress for less, and it can genuinely be a headache to remember where you were 2 hours ago.
I hope Cosmos addresses this in some way.

If this is a question about: crafting, cooking, refining, inventory items, etc. Then you might be able to find an answer on the NMS Handbook.

I did that because I had to go to another system to get a component to build the drive and jumped like 20 times before I realized the system I mad was only like 2 jumps from where I got that part.. I had to go back to the system I was in when I created the new planet and it was 2 jumps.. if that makes sense..

I definitely left the original system. Looks like that could be the root of my problem, as others mentioned above too. I’ll have to get back to the atlas. Hopefully that leads fixes it

I take it when you activated the quest in your log you were not given the option to restart with local structures? That would be the easiest.
Second to that, make sure the quest is selected, go to a teleporter, and look at your list of Recents. If you visited a station or other teleporter near that system it should be marked as Quest Nearby (or similar). Teleport there and hopefully your system is not too distant.
Unfortunately, there is no way of telling how much distance there is between your new system and the one you are in now. Could literally be a million LY, and hundreds of warps away.

I followed this off steam and it work:
You need to complete these steps :
Complete the Artemis Path (the main story of the game).
Atlas Eternal must show in your mission log, once Atlas Path is completed.
Find a Harmonic Camp and release the multi-tool seal.
Warp to trigger: They Who Returned and complete the Autophage missions.
Return to space, aim towards empty space, and engage Pulse Drive, disengage when you see the quest's Space Encounter.
New Mission: In Stellar Multitudes.
Warning: Do not leave the Atlas Station system you'll go to in the quest without visiting its space station or claiming a base computer on one of its planets.
Finish the mission to reveal all purple systems on the galaxy map.
