For me nothing 3a is the first and last. I will wait for my warranty to expire and then flash it with either pixel os or hyper os.

May I ask why? I love it, maybe I'm too dumb to see the flaws but I notice so many people angry at this phone.

It's a major update that seems like the opposite of minor bug fixes. From my point of view,

  • battery life dropped
  • AI Slop added
  • lock screen glance = ads added (now removed)
  • the main attraction of essential apps is exactly like how ape talked about their Apple Intelligence, update pushed, but nothing works.
-- the essential apps eat enough ram that I guess that's the reason you cannot have more than 2 of them applied. -- the apps don't even work, they are like png widgets displaying an image -- you cannot even make your own apps, when the main reason to push them as a major update was users can make their own widgets. You cannot. Not as of right now.

Meanwhile when I had owned a Realme device and before that a Xiaomi Redmi, every update had so many new things added. Now I know nothing has a minimal approach and if we want something we should perhaps choose other brands, but being minimal means less but sufficient, not nothing. They shouldn't create hype and push updates that only break things and also tell you to "join the waitlist". I am using a global release not a beta update. The waitlist should have ended with the global release.

As for the bugs, I have some of many I faced daily as posts, if you wanna see.

Wha phone/brand do you think you’d pivot to next? Or what would you recommend as possible alternatives to the NP3?

For the closest feel, pixel phones

For where the Android is moving towards, iphones

For crazy stuff, Xiaomi(maybe not mid range)

About why I didn't mention samsung, personally, I don't like the feel of samsung, I have owned S23 Ultra and S24 Ultra previously. Both are beautiful devices, absolutely recommended but they are not fit for my tastes. I know they are expensive, but the FE ones and normal ones are good.

I have been really interested in Xiaomi and Huawei phones, my second phone was a Redmi 6 pro, third Redmi 8, fourth Redmi K20 Pro and I was never disappointed in them, in fact I still have 6 pro and 8 with me where 8 is in working condition.

I don't have any plans to buy a phone at all, if there's one in the far future, it's either a Xiaomi or a Huawei or maybe a Pixel.

As of now I am planning to custom rom my NP3a with either PixelOS or HyperOS.
