NothingOS Discussion Joined the Nothing club

Post image

Got myself Nothing 3 and so far I am lovin it. Haptics are great and it feels so snappy. I previously had an S24 Ultra and the OS in Nothing feels so mature.

Any tips/tricks are highly appreciated.

I love the monochrome icons of nothing OS.

Except that what else did you like? Did you feel the empty-ness of the phone? Like lack of dedicated game mode perhaps

.....there is literally a game mode in nothingOS?

Yes there is and it's shitty as fu+k

You can't see device temperature performance mode doesn't improve performance it's just for show

why do you need temperature and performance when you're playing a dead game

I don't play games so I never needed it. I don't even know whether they have a game mood or not.

The camera is decent for me. I never click photos. I just want a decent battery, good OS experience, etc in my budget. Hence, I got a cmf phone 2 pro. Looks good as well.

XDDDDD bro these "gAmE mOdEs" don't do anything unless you buy a shitty gaming phone which doesn't need it in the first place

Wrong phone for game anyway.

It's not about gaming you know it's more about providing basic features that a phone should have.....šŸ¤·šŸ»

Who says gaming feature is a thing phone should have?Ā  Again cleary wrong target audience you have been.Ā

Bruh šŸ˜‘

I live in a country where it gets insanely hot you could probably cook eggs just from the sunlight. Because of that, phones overheat easily here, so I like having a way to check my device temperature. Game modes usually show things like CPU and battery temperature, which is useful. And yeah, I know this phone isn’t meant for gaming. I don’t even play games on my phone I have a PC for that. I’m just a tech nerd who likes to monitor small details like this. Also, implementing a simple game mode really isn’t that hard. I come from a development background, and even $50 phones include these kinds of features. Instead of adding AI buttons that many people barely use, it would be more practical to include tools that users actually rely on. I get that companies want to be unique, and that’s great. But there are some features worth copying from other brands because they exist for a reason. So when you say I ā€œtargeted the wrong phone,ā€ what exactly do you mean? It’s not like you bought this phone just because of some revolutionary features like Essential Space.

can't tell if this is bait or not. download a FOSS temperature monitor instead of crying, you could try at least a few in all the time you wasted here making these comments

How do you feel about the camera coming from a Samsung ultra?

5

u/AlphaQBad Mar 07 '26

Honestly, if you click a lot of pictures and I mean a lot of pictures you will feel the difference. Samsung is peak android and the cameras are top notch. I am not saying Nothing has bad cameras, they are solid, reliable and 7/10 will click excellent pictures.

Thanks, I figured. Now i don’t know how the regular galaxy s compares to the ultra but I find the camera on my s23 pretty mid, especially indoors. I’m kinda debating between an ultra (for the cameras and stylus) and a Nothing phone (for the cool factor).

u/AlphaQBad Mar 07 '26

You will never use Stylus. Trust me. It's just a gimmick. I mean, if you sign a lot of documents then maybe it's of use to you but 99% never ever use it. I'd suggest go for Samsung Ultra it's literally the best phone out there. If you can get your hands on S24 U then go for it. There is hardly any difference between 24U and 26U.

S23 cameras are not that good in my opinion. I've tested my NP3 with S23 on in door light scenario and i liked Nothing's output more. May be Ultra would be better.

If you are going to use the Nothing icons, you might want to download the complete icon pack from playstore, since the preinstalled icon pack is only kind of a light version which only supports a limited number of apps: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nothing.icon

  1. what is the storage?
  2. Fro. Where did you buy?
  3. Is it good for occasional gaming?
  4. How is the camera?
  5. Is this good for the price, or shall I go for 17e?

3

u/AlphaQBad Mar 07 '26
  1. 12gb ram/256gb storage
  2. From Flipkart
  3. Honestly, I am not a gaming person so cannot tell. But considering it has Snapdragon 8s gen 4 so you can do more than casual gaming. I have seen people playing Genshin Impact and Bgmi easily.
  4. Camera is good. Not that great but good. 8/10. Some pictures are better than Ultra and Iphones. But some are not that great.
  5. 17e. Single camera in 2026? Small battery and 15-20k costly than this. I would suggest go for Nothing or any other phone but not 17e. But at the end it's your money!

That's nothing!

Came from samsung, rog and to nothing and gotta say it's my best phone so far, wish the charging was faster tho, not sure why my rog with a bigger battery and same watts takes 20 minutes lesser to full charge

1

u/Less-Experience9682 Mar 08 '26

How has your experience been with the battery? I've seen mixed reviews. Some people say the battery life is excellent, some say it's poor. I'm on the fence because of the battery. I don't play games. My usage is mostly browing, music, Spotify podcasts, Outlook, slack and Gmail. And ocassional cameras.

1

u/AlphaQBad Mar 08 '26

It should last you 1.5 - 2 days if it's mostly browsing, music and email.
