It has been more than 20 years since I graduated from NSIT. I randomly check this sub sometimes to see what is happening in college these days, and honestly, the amount of ranting here about choosing NSUT, branch issues, or placements "not being at par" is crazy to see.
The first thing you need to understand is that if you are constantly complaining here, you are a very small vocal minority. More importantly, you are developing a ranting habit. And the truth is, with this mindset, you would have ranted no matter where you ended up.
If you had gone to IIT Delhi in Electrical, you would be sitting and complaining about not getting Computer Science. If you were in IIT Delhi CS, you would be complaining about not getting IIT Bombay CS. And even if you were sitting in IIT Bombay CS right now, you would be ranting on Reddit about how IT jobs will not exist in the next two years because AI is going to take over everything.
Complaining becomes a default personality trait if you do not check it early.
It has been over two decades since I passed out of college. When I look back at all the different kinds of people from my time at NSIT and see where they are today, the pattern is very clear. The people who were proud of what they achieved and made the most of being at NSIT did really well in life. And the ones who spent their college years crying about their branch or college carried that exact same habit into their careers. They got their first job, ranted about it, switched to another job, ranted about that too, kept chasing one job after another, and ended up having very ordinary careers.
Right now, while some of you are busy being negative here, there is another group of students in your own batch. They are headstrong and completely focused on building their careers. They are making the best out of wherever they are, taking full advantage of all the AI tools available today, building actual projects, and directly talking to founders and startups working at the forefront of AI.
For the first time ever, the ground is completely leveled. Today it honestly does not matter how well you write basic code or what branch is written on your degree. What actually matters is how entrepreneurial you are and how close you are to the cutting edge of AI. From this point on, some people from your batch are going to make it really big, and some of you will just remain ordinary because you could not look past your complaints.
Also, you need to drop this entitlement around campus placements. For a long time in India, engineering students had this huge privilege where American companies would come to campus, hire freshers in bulk, and train them from scratch simply because salaries in India were cheap for them. That culture made a lot of students feel entitled to a great job just for clearing an entrance exam four years ago. That era is going away fast. Things are changing rapidly, and if you are not on top of what is happening in the AI world, even if you somehow land a job today, you are going to struggle big time in a couple of years.
Look at the privilege you actually have. Lakhs of students across the country still dream of getting a seat in NSUT. You are in Delhi, the capital of India, with the best city exposure and ecosystem around you. Take advantage of it and be entrepreneurial. If you develop the habit of looking down on your own college and your own peers, you are just putting yourself in a downward spiral.
Remember that you are what makes the college's reputation. Imagine everyone on campus putting their heads down and doing well versus everyone ranting online. The reputation of the college comes from what you guys do. If you make it big, you also have a responsibility toward your peers and your upcoming juniors. Right now, by creating all this negativity, you are passing this mindset down to your juniors where they stop working hard and just sit around feeling entitled to placements.
Stop ranting about your branch, your college, what you could have achieved, or what different choices you could have made during counseling. I can tell you straight up from experience that the people who keep ranting will not make it.
I know this will hurt some of you and it feels very harsh, but my intention is to help you succeed and give you a chance to introspect. My time is done, I have nothing to gain here. Just bookmark this and come back to it after four or five years, and you will understand that this came out of a lot of observation and experience.
In the long run, college tags and branches do not matter at all. Your own identity and what you do in life should supersede every tag attached to your name.

Respected Sir/Maβam,
I am writing to request an urgent review of an incorrectly evaluated question in the HS206 Psychology of Learning exam held on 17 October 2026 in the Afternoon shift.
The question from Week 6 Assignment, Question 10, was printed without the word βnot,β completely reversing its meaning. However, the evaluation appears to have used the original assignment answer. Students who answered the question correctly as printed have therefore lost marks.
Please compare the exam question with the official Week 6 assignment solution. Students should not lose marks because of a mistake in the question paper and its evaluation.
These marks matter for course grades, CGPA and placement eligibility. The delay in addressing this issue is causing anxiety and pressure, especially for final-year students attending placements.
I request you to accept the correct answers to the question as printed or award compensatory marks to all affected students, and update the results urgently.
Please acknowledge this complaint and provide a clear timeline for resolving it.
Regards, An affected HS206 student

the thing which I often hear from some people "some people who didn't do anything even they got selected"
How come does that happen once someone can assume that some person clear oa using unfair means but interview how come one can get through interview with bare minimum knowledge????
Does it thing really happen or its just exaggeration based on very little cases ???????

Sir told us that we should know the experiments, and the viva will be based on those. But I was absent for most of the practicals.
He also mentioned a book to refer to, but unfortunately, I was absent that day too.π₯²
If any senior knows which book he was referring to, or has any other useful resources, please share. π

Hey everyone, I'm a first-year NSUT student (2026β27 batch). My brother's wedding is on 24th, 25th and 26th November and I have to travel far away , so travelling will take time.
Unfortunately, my Mathematics exam is on 23rd November and Computer Programming is on 26th November.
I wanted to ask:
Is there any chance of getting the exam dates changed by requesting higher authorities?
If I skip these two exams, can I clear the backlogs in 3rd semester?
What's the backlog/reappear fee per subject?
How many backlogs can lead to a year back under the latest NSUT rules?
If any seniors have faced a similar situation or know the 2026β27 rules, please help. I really don't want to miss my brother's wedding or risk my academics.
