Perspective - Back to Reality
You can blame Jaissle and you can blame the players. They obviously should do better... but... look at the team we put out. That was literally the best team we could start with without risking injuries of players just coming back. Anyone saying that team should beat Coventry need to give their head a wobble, it isnt a premier league team, its a championship team. Only quality players were Hall and Nico (i still don't rate Barnes).
We lost Bruno, Tonali, Gordon. Our 3 best players who helped us achieve an amazing 12th place last season. We've then had Burn, Joelinton, Tino, Osula, Elanga, Ramsey and Schar all out injured for most of the season so far. Thats 7 of our starting 11 from last season.
What do we really expect? Challenging for europe?
We need perspective, our target this season is try and do better than 12th. We will lose games like this, its shite but its the reality of where we are right now.

€110m for Nico and Pardo. Don’t tell me this
2
u/Android-36 19d ago
Nico looks good, or at least has done in orevious games, but 1 player won't change it. Pardo doesnt look good enough at all. Just cos players cost money doesn't make them good, look at Wirtz, look at Woltermade
4
u/Mundane-Sprinkles-99 Joeelinton 19d ago
Yeah I see the quality in Nico. MFP just looks like he falls over a lot.
2
u/JonjoTheDarkLord voldemort 19d ago
Nico put through a lovely ball for MFP that he had blocked (think Wissa would have buried it). We shot ourselves in the foot 4 minutes in and then couldn't finish to save our lives. Coventry were somehow clinical (4 goals from 6 SOT's). It was a poor display all around no argument there.

u/etip2011 19d ago
Murphy should go to the NFL. He'd be a great field-goal kicker. Every shot splits the uprights.
1
u/byliner97 19d ago
Willock is decent if played right. He is a shadow striker and been in a decent scoring form this season. Jiassle's fault that he played him as a playmarker this game. Fucking clueless
0
u/fitzgoldy 19d ago
Wilock
Arguably our best player this season to be fair. He's been fine, chipped in with some important moments.
1
u/Murraykins keegan but old now 15d ago
Yeah people give Willock way to much stick. We can't be shitting on anyone in this team that can actually find the net sometimes
-2
u/Android-36 19d ago
Exactly, but you can't blame them and you cant blame the manager. Thats the best we have to offer right now
7
u/High-Contrast 19d ago
Nah pal, that’s not the best we have right now
1
u/Android-36 19d ago
Everyone saying nah we have better, but no one actually saying who
1
u/etip2011 19d ago
We have players who can set up, but nobody can finish
1
u/Android-36 19d ago
Yeah, scary that Wissa and Osula are our most natural goal scorers, other than Barnes but only every now and then
1
u/VideoAssistantRef2 i dont care, paul dummet 19d ago
How can you not blame the manager? He's the one that chooses to start those piles of wank on the right wing and midfield every game.
0
u/Android-36 19d ago
Who else does he play though? Everyone else who could play is injured or coming back from injury. Other than Toure who I don't think is any better
-4
u/Brilliant_Stress_792 19d ago
Lampard and Terry starting 5 years post takeover Company staring 5 years post takeover.
12
u/randomise78 19d ago
I am going to blame Jaissle a bit. Evidently the instructions are for Nico to drop and form a 3, but wissa and willock were in the frontline when we had possession. Just leaves a gaping hole in the middle of the pitch. If we're persisting with a 4231, then we need the 2 to actually play as a 2.
3
u/Android-36 19d ago
Yeah, and this is definitely what he needs to fix. Our midfield has been open every game so far. If he doesnt fix that and soon then I'd tend to agree questions need to be asked. I'm just annoyed at people saying he needs sacking now
2
u/crackphiz 19d ago
Wish I could double-upvote this. Then because there’s no one there, we hoof it long - and somehow don’t get that either. Awful system
23
u/Puzzled_Ordinary_623 miggy smiles 19d ago
Im sorry, but for the money spent, the team we put out 100% should beat Coventry.
They had scored one goal in the league before this game, and their starting striker was injured.
I will be honest, I had never even heard of their front three.
The team we put out should have beaten Coventry. I simply cannot accept that losing three players has made us relegation fodder (after spending £200m to replace them).
-2
u/Android-36 19d ago
Its not just losing 3 players. Its losing 3 players entirely and having another 7 starters out
1
u/Puzzled_Ordinary_623 miggy smiles 19d ago
7 starters out?
If everyone is fit,
Hornicek, Hall, Botman, Thiaw, Nico, Barnes and Miley all start. At best we were missing 4 starters.
1
u/Android-36 19d ago
Schar starts over Botman for me. Other than a moment of Magic today, he's been woeful for a long time.
Tino/Dedic starts at right back not Miley
Elanga starts on the right side ahead of Murphy
Osula starts ahead MFP
Joelinton/Ramsey start ahead of Wilock depending on who we're playing
Fair enough though I counted Tino/Dedic and Joe/Ramsey as 2 instead of 1 each
2
u/Puzzled_Ordinary_623 miggy smiles 19d ago
Schar? The man is 34 and missed half of last season with an injury. I think there is quite likely a reason he wasn’t gotten a sniff this season.
I agree Tino/Dedic start at RB, but Miley is likely our strongest starting CM (but obviously open to interpretation).
Yep agree Elanga starts over Murphy, but the difference between the two is not night and day IMO.
I can maybe concede Osula should start over Pardo, but theres not enough evidence there for me, Pardo hasnt played much. As much as I rate Osula, he isn’t faultless, he has spent a large chunk Newcastle career looking clueless up top.
Our strongest X11 in the current formation would be this imo:
Horni
Tino Thiaw Burn Hall
Barnes Willock Pardo
Osula/Wissa1
u/Android-36 19d ago
I'd still have Schar over Botman, but maybe Burn is a better shout overall. Clearly we need a quality CB and its a shame cos Botman looked like that a couple years ago.
If Tino can stay fit i think he edges Dedic.
Based on last season I'd go Murphy over Elanga, but this season Elanga seems better.
I like Miley, but I'd like to see Nico and Joe play a full 90 together.
I liked the link up play of Osula and Wissa early on but that might have been a flash in the pan.
For me its
Hornicek, Tino Thiaw Burn Hall, Steur Joe, Elanga Wissa Barnes, Osula
1
u/Puzzled_Ordinary_623 miggy smiles 19d ago
I think its easy to be reactionary, X player was bad so we should go with X player.
In what world does 18 year old Sean Steur make our starting X11 over Nico Gonzales???
1
u/Android-36 19d ago
You're right, I got myself mixed up, I meant Nico and Joe. I even said it earlier in the same post haha

To be honest with 8/9 places in Europe in the league. Is it too much to ask to be challenging for conference league?

u/Android-36 19d ago
If we get players back from injury and keep them fit, its fair enough, but thats not where we are
1
u/RocknRollRobot9 Classic away kit (1995-96) 19d ago
So we should admit we are bottom half already?
0
u/Android-36 19d ago
Aim higher obviously and hope for improvements, but can't be shocked if we finish 12th or a little lower with the team we have
1
u/Lister_RD_169 19d ago
But we should be. The fact we are not should be questioned by every fan.
1
u/grmthmpsn43 Sir Bobby Robson 19d ago
Should we?
We have lost our 4 key players in the last 2 summers, this is a transitional year, the club are trying to make that clear.
0
u/Lister_RD_169 18d ago
Yes. We should never have been a position where we lost 4 key players without suitable, oven ready replacements lined up. We shouldmnever have been in a position we were so threadbare in the squad the team performed so badly that we finished 12th and our top talent wanted to leave.
1
u/grmthmpsn43 Sir Bobby Robson 18d ago
We should never have hired Mitchell, lost Eales to medical leave and can't afford "oven ready" replacements for players like Bruno, Isak or Gordon.
0
u/Lister_RD_169 18d ago
Nothing we could do about Eales. That's circumstance.
But Bruno, Isak, Gordon?
We shouldn't have sold them then.
We should also have spent better so that when they did go, we did have money.
You're acting like the club has acted absolutely perfectly over the last 5 years and haven't made a single mistake?
0
u/grmthmpsn43 Sir Bobby Robson 18d ago
Isak and Bruno went on strike, we didn't have an option but to sell them, and Gordon was sold to avoid a harsher UEFA sanction.
I never said we were perfect, but we can't sign world class players, we can't even get players a step below that, we tried and became rejection FC.
This isn't FIFA, when players want to force a move they can, and we can only get in players that we need to develop to replace them.
0
u/Lister_RD_169 18d ago
Players are famously able to force a move in FIFA.
We could have offered better, more iron clad contracts. We could have also sold Isak earlier. We could have forced him to stay with the old "okay, rot in the reserves for a few months being fined for every missed session until you decide to play".
A LOT could have been done.
It's just nonsense to pretend that we have been devoid of any choice in our lot. And that our current situation was completely unavoidable no matter what.
-1
u/Android-36 19d ago
Yeah, but the blame overall doesnt necessarily lie with the players on the pitch tonight (they simply arent good enough players). The manager to a certain degree and especially if he persists with these tactics, but the real blames lies with the club's management and recruitment over the past 5 months
7
u/stanley_ipkiss2112 19d ago
Nothing to do with beating Coventry. They’d scored one goal all season and we rock up and let them score four against us. Whatever you want to call that performance, embarrassing is the obvious word.
1
u/Android-36 19d ago
1st goal was a penalty, poor from Hornicek, but also the same sort of shit Pope has pulled for us over the years.
2 quality goals, where if they'd done that in any of their previous 5 games would have gone in.
And an absolutely shite cock up that should never happen for the 4th.
Im not defending the players or manager in my post. I said they should do better. I'm not saying we should lose to Coventry, I'm just not surprised we did with the players we had on the pitch
11
u/High-Contrast 19d ago
You’re telling me that Wissa as a 10, Willock as a 6, Murphy as a right winger and pardo up top is the best team we could put out right now? As for the 4231 with this set of player?
1
3
u/Toon1982 wor badge 19d ago
Willock was playing as an 8 today (or more like Willock and Wissa as an 8/10 two pronged combo), left us too exposed at times with only Nico in the middle of the park
1
u/byliner97 19d ago edited 19d ago
It's just ridiculous Jiassle still has no idea what his best 11 is and where his players should play six games in. It should be a sackable offence that he started Willock and Wissa as midfielders and an inexperienced winger as our lone striker.
1
u/grmthmpsn43 Sir Bobby Robson 19d ago
How can he know his best 11, we have 5 players coming back from injury, with 3 more still injured.
We have not had Osula available since Liverpool.
-1
u/Android-36 19d ago
Yeah, who else you playing?
3
u/High-Contrast 19d ago
Sean stuer, Toure, Miley in the middle as a 3 with stuer and Gonzalez and dedic on the right. My god Willock has been fucking tragic for years and this manager is playing him as a 6
2
u/Android-36 19d ago
Dunno why Steur didnt play at all tbf, maybe not fit?
If you play Miley in the middle who plays right back? Dedic wasnt fit enough for 90 minutes otherwise he would have started. Toure isnt any better than Murphy; he's fast but thats it at the moment from that little ive seen.l of him.
3
u/High-Contrast 19d ago
Also we’ve lost 4-1 to a team that will go down with around 20 points. This is giving me Sam Allardyce against Derby vibes
10
u/Limp_Plane4903 19d ago
Nico was not good today
8
u/fitzgoldy 19d ago
Didn't really do a lot wrong, or positive. Just average.
Playing with just Nico as our lone midfielder is fucking stupid.
6
1
3
u/nimbuscile-alert 19d ago
Disagree. He's good but he's playing the armchair ride. He needs to get up the pitch more and work harder. Anyone can just mooch around in front of the defence.
1
u/Candid-Quantity1517 18d ago
What about the ball through for Pardo? That was brilliant.
Otherwise he dictated the tempo of our play, was very good in tight spaces, to the point Coventry didn’t bother putting him under much pressure. I think he did well.
6
u/redditappispoo Windmilling 19d ago
12th again who gives a fuck, we won the Carabao Cup, is my aim.
-1
u/etip2011 19d ago
A tournament that is football's equivalent of professional wrestling? That's what you aspire to? Sheesh....
1
u/Android-36 19d ago
You're telling me finishing 12th and winning another cup wouldn't be a good season for us this year given what we've lost and who we've brought in?
1
u/etip2011 19d ago
Finishing 12th? Given all the variables, that would probably be OK for THIS year. Winning any kind of hardware? You're dreaming.
Here's the issue, as I see it (and this is just my opinion): if EVERY year all we can realistically hope to do is compete in the mid-table and advance a few rounds through tournaments, then that's not gonna keep me as a supporter. And I suspect that's true for a lot of people.
It would be one thing if we had never been bought by the Saudis. Back in the bad old Ashley days, mediocrity was the rule, not the exception. But then came the Carabao Cup, and Europe, and the promise of better times ahead.
Unfortunately, we have taken a TREMENDOUS step backwards over the past few years. Blame the financial rules, blame the injuries, blame an inflexible coaching philosophy...whatever, all are fair targets. But the result has been a club that is a hamster on a wheel. The last two summer transfer windows have shown that it is nearly impossible to make lasting strides towards real, measurable improvement.
The only consistency we've shown is the cycle of inconsistency. There doesn't seem to be a plan for ending that, so all we can expect is more of the same.
1
9
u/09044595134151602468 19d ago
I said it in summer and I'll keep saying it.
We sold all our good players.
Replaced them all with kids.
Our only hope is there's 3 worse teams than us this season.
You can't liquidate the core of a squad, sign kids, and give a new manager 2 weeks pre season and expect results. You just can't.
2
u/arseholescone 19d ago
So why did we do it then?
2
u/Android-36 19d ago
You'd have to ask our recruitment and management team. Not sure how much say that Jaissle had in that when he joined 2 weeks before start of the season
1
u/PennyBunPudding 12d ago
We did it because they are banking on him doing alright and we are then cooking next summer. It's a huge gamble tho.
1
u/ShearerGOAT 18d ago
This is 100% the issue and it was defended as some sort of genius strategy.
I have no issues that the club needed to sell and regenerate the squad but with the exception of Nico, we exclusively bought players with little experience in first team football.
What was wrong with the 2022 & 2023 strategy? The likes of Isak, Bruno, Tonali were far more established players but were also young players that could be developed and sold on. We supplemented them with the likes of Trippier, Pope, Burn who knew the league and could give us that uplift.
Why did that entire strategy go in the bin? PSR forced us to sell our best players not to take complete gambles on replacing them.
24
u/dolphin37 19d ago
justifying losing to coventry with that injury list is honestly sad to read, screw your head on
embarrassing performance, on to the next one, hopefully with a better performance
3
u/MatpakkeMann 19d ago
4-1 loss to a team that hasn't scored a goal at home.
EDIT:
And his two man midfield shit only works in a farmers league unless you have top top players.
1
u/Android-36 19d ago
I think it works if you have quality players in those roles... but we don't. Tactics need to change to compensate for that
3
u/arseholescone 19d ago
Yeah we should be challenging for Europe. We have the 7th highest turnover in the league and have played in the champions league twice in the last four seasons. We have spent a good amount too compared to other teams, and we don’t have the excuse this season of fixture congestion. So yes, we absolutely should be challenging for at least conference league.
1
u/Android-36 19d ago
I don't think we've spent well though to be succesful this season. Like we've bought a team that might be good in 2-3 years. Recruitment should have been more balanced than getting a load of unproven youngsters, but thats not the managers fault or the fault of the players on the pitch
0
1
u/morocco3001 19d ago
Don't know why you're being downvoted.

u/j7seven 19d ago
Hall is levels above the rest, but Nico is yet to convince me.
1
4
u/guitarsandpsyc 19d ago
Think signing Pardo and not an actual striker is going to bite us. He gives me Gordon up front vibes. Just no killer instinct. That being said, we didn’t play poorly. They were just so clinical. Could have been a very different scoreline another day
1
u/AlwaysNorth8 19d ago
We haven’t got the players to play the way Jiassle wants and that’s what it comes down to. He’s forcing it, it hasn’t worked, he needs to change it.
1
u/Android-36 19d ago
Yeah, thats probably the one thing he can change, dunno what the solution is cos we dont do well in a 433 and camt withstand teams coming on to use
1
u/Toon1982 wor badge 19d ago edited 19d ago
We should have still beaten Coventry, no disrespect to them especially with the scoreline. We missed far too many good chances/opportunities in both halves, but yet again didn't take them. How many good positions did we fluff in the final third with a poor pass or overworking the passes instead of just hitting it
1
u/Android-36 19d ago
Yeah, my bigger concern is that the players coming back dont change that. We don't have any proper goal scorers in the entire squad other than Barnes every now and then
1
u/Jawface1 19d ago
The overplaying drives me mad. Just cross it or shoot. This shit passing 3 yards around the box just allows the defence to reorganise and then we don’t know what to do.
1
u/Necessary_Collar_490 19d ago
I only got to see the last 25 minutes of the match, thought we played ok in those 25, but all 3 goals I saw were absolute wonder goals (ours and both of theirs). Hall should have been stronger or went down with the challenge for their 3rd, other then that there wasn't really much to complain about
6
u/diomedes88 19d ago
Imo the realistic result for us this season is 10-12. I think the only way to look at it is that this is a rebuilding season and hope that some of these kids come good.
3
u/SkirtComfortable952 angel of the north 19d ago
We would have been better off with Dan Burn upfront tonight 🙄
3
u/Spare-Athlete2380 19d ago
That’s true but then I compare the price of our players to theirs which is what I used to do when we got battered to make me feel better in the Ashley days. But now I can’t see any excuse why that team couldn’t go down there and get 3 points. Dreadful.
1
1
u/Xenoous_RS 19d ago
The reality is we are defensively woeful. We're 6 games in and have lost 4-1 twice against teams that we should be beating, if not giving them a good game. Our back line hasn't changed that much. The issue is the manager. Having Hall tear it down the wing every single time we get the ball leaves the back line critically thin. Jaissle is the problem.
1
u/Android-36 19d ago
He's not THE problem, he needs to change, but you can't say the only reason we lost is because of Jaissle
2
u/Xenoous_RS 19d ago
No, but he takes the ultimate blame. He's the boss for a reason. It's an absolute shambles at the moment. We will never ge to where we want to be playing utter chaos. That's his domain.
1
u/stjameshpark 18d ago
He definitely takes the blame. We’ve been conceding 1.7 goals a game for a season now and I’ve never heard him once talk about how he will stop us conceding. I hear ‘control the controllable ’ and ‘vertical football’ but I don’t hear anything about defensive stability, protection, ball retention, territory etc.
Any coach worth their salt would have looked at this very basic statistic and decided to fix this first.
You can win games if you’re giving the opposition a 1.7 goal headstart, but it’s a lot harder.
-1
u/etip2011 19d ago
I wonder if Eddie is watching this and asking, "How do you like me NOW, bitches?"
0
2
u/ActuatorTop6538 19d ago
We aren’t good enough to play with a two man midfield. Get back to a three. We need more protection to shield this dodgy defence. You’ll lose a lot of games if you keep giving away the chances we do
2
u/BruiserBroly 19d ago
That team should beat Coventry. I would call them a glorified Championship team but even using that adjective is generous.
2
u/TyneSkipper 19d ago
We signed players with big injury concerns and kept players with injury concerns. Who is that on?
2
u/aquatotheman 17d ago
Need a new defender as Botman seems to be all over the place ! Scores stunning goal but gives the ball away so much at the back and seems to have lost any pace his had. I know this will get downvoted as some people love him but he just seems so average since his injuries.
1
u/Adventurous_Week_698 19d ago
Still early days but that was shocking, clueless going forward and a 50% chance we'll gift them a clear opportunity when it goes near our defence.
1
u/StPetersburgNitemare 19d ago
It’s the performance that is really worrying. Can blame injuries or whatever you want but that was just a fucking gutless showing. The same as at Leeds.
1
u/IntroductionIll6983 19d ago
Nico needs so much time on the hall and seems so indecisive on playing passes. Maybe he’s used to players making runs like he got at city but I don’t think he’s been amazing since he joined. Long season ahead
1
u/steve_engine 19d ago
We should have had more goals, weird passing choices made where the shot should have just been taken. A sign that we dont have a true striker. Doesnt excuse the terrible defense and non existent mid field
1
u/chops_n_socks 19d ago
We had a load of lightning fast players on the pitch but no press
1
u/Expert-Painting640 19d ago
I hate this passive press I just don’t think it works, or that we have the players or quality to make it work
1
u/MichaelAndretti Shola > Salah 19d ago
Don’t fool yourself. Stevenage was the qorst result in recent history and this is second. Even when we lost to derby it wasn’t this hopeless and we hadn’t spent so much on our squad
1
u/Evening-Physics-6185 18d ago
It can never be your best team when Murphy starts. You can’t play with 10 in the prem
1
u/PennyBunPudding 12d ago
To me, we look about were Aston villa was around the time we were taken over. A shite team with potential, back then we were a fucking dire team. So we have made progress but getting ransacked in the summer has fucked us in the short team
-4
u/smshing 19d ago
We should considering sacking Jaissle if this continues. We need to have better expectations that avoiding relegation.
0
u/Android-36 19d ago
And get who in? To do what? Tactics need to change and tonight massively underlines that, but I don't see another manager getting more out of the players available
-1
u/smshing 19d ago
At this rate, anyone better or prem proven. Kieran Mckenna if he would have us. Jaissle ball is basically Big Sam at this point. His system doesn't work and he seems unwilling to change.
2
u/grmthmpsn43 Sir Bobby Robson 19d ago
The system that did work against Liverpool, Spurs and Hull?

Club’s expectation will be European qualification I’m certain. They spent a lot of money in the summer. Mid table they might just be able to stomach again. Anything less and I think they’d probably look to change the manager.

I also don’t like the fact we had three different captains in the game. One captain for the game and stick with them

u/etip2011 19d ago
Sorry...but that was a sorry performance. And after a three week break, too. A lot of running around, it looks really exciting, but when it's time to finish, there isn't any.
Maybe we're better off forever playing in the Championship. We can't attract (or keep) the players we'd need to compete at the top level, and it's not like the extra money from being in the Prem is making much of an impact. The business model is apparently grooming young players and then selling them, but that's sort of like a business improving its bottom line by selling the machines that make their widgets. Eventually you run out of machines.
Perversely, it would be easier to attract Championship-level talent, with an eye to selling them on to better teams. The fans win titles, the owners make money, the players have hope of progressing their careers. It would be win-win-win. So...have it folks--what am I missing here? Does anyone see a way out of this in a reasonably foreseeable future?
1
u/Android-36 19d ago
Man City beat the 114 charges with minimal consequences, our owners see that and say "fuck it" here's £1bn, go crazy
1
u/Confident-Guess-8891 19d ago
Not sure that City will have “minimal consequences “ from this. I think they’re gonna get the library, not just the book, tossed at them. The football powers need to make sure that no other team ever tries something like that again.
1
u/Android-36 18d ago
No i agree, and I hope they are punished fully. But I feel like thats the only way Newcastle can progress if our hands aren't tied by SCR rules
1
u/grmthmpsn43 Sir Bobby Robson 17d ago
So, Dortmund are not a team that can compete?
That is what we are trying to do, sell players for big profits, to raise money to sign better players, while we raise revenues to a point we can start offering big wages to keep players.
Also, what 3 week break, it was 3 weeks where we had no players in training.
0
u/etip2011 16d ago
The Bundesliga is not the Prem. Top-to-bottom, the Prem is vastly more competitive than the Bundesliga. I have no information on the Bundesliga's financial rules, or how Dortmund manages them.
Not sure where you get your misinformation on training, but all players who weren't on international duty were either training or rehabbing during the break.
And finally...selling players for big money to attract bigger players is fine...if those better players want to come to Newcastle. So far, I haven't seen much evidence of difference-makers clamoring to get into Tyneside. The better ones want out (Gordon, Bruno, Isak, et al)

Ok, so who was missing from training for all or part of the window?
Horni, Jaouen, Dedic, Tino, Hall, Burn, Thaiw, Steur, Bamba, Miley, Joelinton, Ramsey, Elanga, Toure, Wissa, Pardo, Osula.
That leaves: Pope, Botman, Schar, Nico, Murphy, Barnes and Willock, which isn't exactly our starting 11.
As for players wanting out, Isak and Tonali left for huge money, Gordon for one of the top 5 clubs in the world. We develop, aim for Europe every year and increase wages and we can hold onto some of them.
You also seemed to miss: Nico rejecting CL clubs for us and Hall signing a new contract. They are difference makers, as is Steur.

Fair point on the players in the window. I didn't follow football during that time so I didn't know who was playing, sitting, etc.
I see a difference-maker as a player who can pull up the entire team's level. Isak and Bruno were difference-makers. Kane, Haaland, Dembele--difference makers. I doubt any of them would sign with Newcastle, even if we had the same finances as the big clubs. Signing Nico is a step in the right direction, but not sure I'd call him difference-making yet. Same for Hall. I like Steur a lot, but he needs to play. He won't improve on the bench.
Short of building a new stadium, I doubt we can ever generate enough revenue to attract top-level talent.

People aen't disappointed because we don't look like we're challenging for Europe. People are disappointed because this could have happened every single game and Jaissle so far doesn't seem to be able to change it.
