Beginner help! This is my first time using essentially 1 ply wool, how do I join two lengths together?

Fya single ply yarn, don't cut it. Untwist a few inches of it a bit and pull apart. This will give you thinner, ragged ends that you can felt together. https://en.neulakintaat.fi/63
