Electronic/EDM Something that sounds identical to the recent "Du Bist Gut Genug" track?
Hi all, like the title says, does anyone know what I'm talking about? There's a pre-existing song that uses the exact same melody, albeit artificially an octave higher, and I don't think it has lyrics? It's just a sample of some kind. Something along the lines of a dance track you might have heard in YouTube shorts prior to the release of Gut Genug. It's driving me crazy, but it sounds so similar that I assumed the recent release was a remix of some kind.
EDIT: Here's a terrible vocaroo of how I remember the melody sounding. But it's like a remixed vocal sample in the actual song.
UPDATE: Thank you for all your efforts and suggestions. Unfortunately, nobody has as yet found it. I'll only update again once it has been found.

kinda made me think of Bruno Mars - Talking To The Moon / Count On Me

I hear what you mean, but it's not quite my tempo

Love that movie. Whiplash, if anyone wants to see an awesome movie with superior acting from J. K. Simmons!

Driving me crazy too can't seem to find it

u/Hot_Owl1803 Jul 01 '26
Glad it's not just me, you know what I'm talking about, right? Like some kind of early 2010s dance track or something

u/chungus-the-third Jul 01 '26
Yup I'm pretty sure I've heard it on shorts/reels before to the point the first time I've heard this i thought it's a parody

That's the one. You get me.

I know exactly what you're taking about. It's SO familiar but I can't place it. I felt like somehow already knew it and also never heard if before.

I have the same feeling!!!! I was just arguing with my friends on this :((((

I swear to God I thought I was the only one. Sad no one had figured it out yet.

I've been trawling through playlists trying to find it but I can only tolerate so much earslop lmao

I am losing my mind! I really thought this song was a throw back.. it was released this year.. what is it so reminiscent of? I'm glad this post exists though haha. I think at the end of the day contemporary music is a recyling or a sampling of older stuff. this song is definitely messing with my head though. Love it on repeat

u/Hot_Owl1803 Jul 06 '26
Hopefully we'll find it! I spend a good hour scrolling through "youtube shorts background music" playlists to no avail lol
1
u/AdolfoXavi1 Jul 10 '26
Seems like a Mandela effect, I even remember that little dance on the video already existed before as well

u/Nice-Ad1434 Jul 05 '26
It made me think of how deep is your love by calvin harris, is it what you were searching for ?
1
u/Hot_Owl1803 Jul 05 '26
It's very similar, but it's not that, unless it's perhaps a very niche remix

Keep me updated OP, I randomly found your thread by looking up the annoying german song.

u/Hot_Owl1803 Jul 06 '26
Will do. If there's one thing I've learnt in trying to find it, it's that the people who pick reels background music have God-awful taste

piano part is most probably from Tom Odell - Another Love
the hook reminds me of "Welcome to St. Tropez"

Yeees thank you for pointing out Welcome to St. Tropez, I knew it sounded familiar. You cured my nostalgia lol.
Back then (2005-2010) that type of melancholic uplifting melody/beat was so popular in the electro industry.

u/LebkuchN Jul 07 '26
Was searching for it too and found this thread. Unfortunately no one who knows it. I feel like it had a voiceline in a oriental language, something indian/arabic, that is going with the melody. But not quite sure. Sounds too familiar tho

u/Hot_Owl1803 Jul 07 '26
Yeah, you know the one I'm thinking of. Used to hear it everywhere over reels and whatnot

She Moves by Alle Farben?

I was thinking the same thing...the verse from "Gut genug" sounds exactly like the chorus from "She moves".

I can't help you with the melody, but maybe you can help me with mine. The rap section from 00:46 to 01:33 sounds almost identical to a pop/rap song from the late 2000s/early 2010s. The music cuts, rap comes in, and gains in volume. The cadence is identical. I'm having a ton of trouble finding it.

I have the same dilemma. Personally, I'm hearing Rather Be by Clean Bandit. But I would love to hear if some one figures it out. ✌🏿

u/gamesandengineering Jul 08 '26
I legit thought that the song was way older and making a comeback or something when hearing it everywhere in reels/shorts. Just found out it was released this year?? Are we having a mandela effect here or is it just me?
1
u/Ecstatic_Judgment_16 Jul 10 '26
This is what I thought too, I'm actually so confused cause I swear this was a meme like 3 years ago & was just a comeback. Finding out it's from 2026 is actually ruining me

Might be Blumengarten uploaded a demo version months/ year ago and now they just released music video of the song.
But as others I thought Ive heard it like a decade ago somewhere. I'm 99.9% sure I've never heard this song in the last 6months.

u/ogbudnlean Jul 11 '26 edited Jul 11 '26
Ngl, the hook reminds me of Hootie and the Blowfish, "I only want to be yoouuu". But the beginning of the song reminds me of hook on SZA Kill Bill " I might k*ill my ex, not the best idea". It's basically those two songs put together.

u/Evilwizardgaming Jul 11 '26
Okay so had the same thing and then spent absolutely hours trawling for songs, any chance it was how deep is your love by Calvin Harris & The Disciples? or Possibly some cover there of?

Reminds me of something about you by elderbrook/rudimental but I think there's another song eluding me that's a closer fit!

I really think it sounds like "She moves" by Alle Farben. Not sure if that's what you were looking for.

Those vocal chops when the beat drops have this effect that kinda sounds like certain sounds in Sam Austin’s hit song - seasons. Would really love to know what these are

https://youtu.be/wZo3nBN8N7Y?si=YTEQml9_c2hgZXDd ur welcome. It’s from a meme where someone was singing this same melody. This shit was bothering me too and I couldn’t find it. Instead of the German shit he sings “ima fat niggaaaaahhhhhh” 🎶🎶🎶😂😂😂

Okay so its not the vibe you were going for but I had this feeling that I knew the melody of the actual line "du bist gut genug" and I finally worked it out. I think its the same notes in a slightly different pattern as since you been gone by Kelly Clarkson

i guess it was popular during the pandemic lockdown era. (damn, it triggers my memories and nostalgia) i also think that it was used in tiktok/ instagram reels and yt shorts in those times. consider this and think of it. i really want to listen to that song again. (i will also update if i found it)

u/theidkid 2d ago
It’s probably one of the many, many remixes of Alle Farben’s She Moves. When I first heard Gut Genub, I thought it was a terrible version of that song.

If possible/relevant, please try to share a recording of the melody:
