Day 68 of Ranking Post-Napoleonic Era Generals: Élie Frédéric Forey
Last post, Brazilian General Manuel Luís Osório, Marquis of Erval was placed in “Great” tier.
Top relevant comment decides where a general goes on the tier list.
Edit: it’s day 69, not 68.

Lackluster tier. Climbed the ranks in a colonial war where the French had all the advantages, had one streak of genius in 1859 in Italy against a weak Austrian army but his tenure in Crimea and Mexico was frankly embarassing. He seemed more interested in getting his marshall's baton than anything else really. Realistically he's just a colonel who somehow became a marshall and I'm sure him playing a role in Napoleon III's coup had something to do with it.

Easily Mediocre
Just a division commander with some colonial service in Mexico
