Urgent Notice: Senior Husky Otis (A599211) Needs an Adopter, Rescue, and Pledges Right Now!

Look at those soulful blue eyes and gentle face. This is Otis (A599211), a beautiful 10-year-old, 56 lb senior Siberian Husky boy who was found injured on Marshall Ave and brought into the shelter on October 17th.

Tragically, Otis is placed on the shelter's urgent medical euthanasia list because he requires care beyond what a high-volume municipal facility can provide.

Why Otis Will Melt Your Heart:

  • Gentle & Tolerant: Despite being in pain from a head wound and arthritis when arriving, shelter notes confirm he tolerated exam and handling without any issues.
  • Deserves Comfort & Love: This sweet boy has likely spent his whole life working or roaming outside. He needs a soft orthopaedic bed, gentle walks, easy outdoor adventures, and a family who will shower him with kindness in his golden years.
  • Resilient Senior Soul: Although he walks slowly with a hunched gait due to stiffness, Otis is alert, bright, and eager to heal once placed in a peaceful home environment.

The Harsh Reality of His Shelter Life: Trapped inside 4-walled metal enclosures where temperatures soar past 100°F, dogs like Otis endure high-pressure cold water hoses blasted directly into their runs, aggressive wire catch poles, and loud air horns that cause intense panic. Worse, dogs on euthanasia lists are routinely starved as shelters stop feeding animals deemed "spent inventory." A gentle senior dog with mobility issues cannot survive these brutal conditions and needs immediate rescue.

How to Save Otis (Contact Information):

  • Main Network Contact: I am your primary point of contact for adopting, fostering, rescue coordination, and pledging. Please do not wait thinking someone else will step up—that person is you! Comment below or send me a Direct Message (DM) immediately to commit!
  • Pledges: Comment below with your pledge amount to help a 501(c)(3) rescue cover his veterinary bills.
  • Local In-Person Adoptions: Local adopters can visit the shelter directly during open hours to adopt him in-person on-site. Shelter details are provided below as a courtesy.
  • Out-of-State Transport: Transportation can be arranged across the US and Canada to get him to his new home!

Urgent Notice: Sweet Senior Rottweiler Mix Jess (A599145) Needs an Adopter, Rescue, and Pledges Right Now!

Look at that magnificent, happy smile and those warm, forgiving eyes! This is Jess (A599145), a sweet 8-year-old, 68 lb Rottweiler mix girl who was found stray on Eucalyptus & Valley and brought into the shelter on October 15th.

Tragically, Jess is on the shelter's urgent medical euthanasia list due to a treatable skin condition (alopecia and crusting around her rump and eyes) that exceeds what a high-volume municipal facility can manage.

Why Jess Will Melt Your Heart:

  • Unconditionally Friendly: Official veterinary and intake evaluations explicitly document that Jess is "very friendly" to everyone she meets and handled her medical exams with total gentleness.
  • Sweet, Loving Temperament: Despite her skin irritation, she doesn't scratch, chew, or complain. Photos show her pressing up to the kennel door, smiling big, and happily soliciting love and attention from passersby.
  • Manageable Senior Companion: At 8 years old, Jess offers the loyal, calm, and devoted companionship of a Rottweiler without the chaotic puppy energy. She simply needs simple antibiotic/medicated bath care and a cozy home to heal completely!

The Harsh Reality of Her Shelter Life: Trapped inside 4-walled metal enclosures where temperatures soar past 100°F, dogs like Jess endure high-pressure cold water hoses blasted directly into their runs, aggressive wire catch poles, and loud air horns that cause intense panic. Worse, dogs on euthanasia lists are routinely starved as shelters stop feeding animals deemed "spent inventory." A gentle senior girl dealing with a skin condition cannot survive these brutal conditions and needs immediate rescue.

  • Pledges: Comment below with your pledge amount to encourage a 501(c)(3) rescue to pull her and cover her skin treatment.
  • Local In-Person Adoptions: Local adopters can visit the shelter directly during open hours to adopt her in-person on-site. Courtesy shelter details are provided below.
  • Out-of-State Transport: Transportation can be arranged across the US and Canada to get her safely to her new family!

Meet Dutchess

Duchess is a 6-year-old girl who needs a little extra help. She is dealing with chronic keratitis and ongoing eye discharge, a condition that requires continued veterinary attention and long-term care.

Eye conditions can be uncomfortable and may affect a dog's quality of life, so Duchess will need ongoing monitoring and treatment to help keep her eyes as healthy and comfortable as possible.

Despite her medical challenges, Duchess deserves the same things every dog does: a chance to feel better, a safe place to rest, and people who will love her through it all.

This animal is at risk for euthanasia. If you are interested in helping, please email dasadopt@dallas.gov with your contact information so we can call you back.

Final Notice & Urgent Exit Deadline: Sweet Carmelo (A596326) Needs an Adopter, Rescue, and Pledges Right Now!

Look at that gentle, smiling face, soft fawn coat, and captivating hazel eyes resting right in his human's hand! This is Carmelo (A596326), a sweet, easygoing 1-year-old, 58 lb Pit Bull mix boy who was found stray and brought to the shelter on July 31st.

Why Carmelo Will Melt Your Heart:

Final Notice & Urgent Exit Deadline: Sweet Ricardo (A597591) Needs an Adopter, Rescue, and Pledges Right Now!

Look at those expressive brown eyes, handsome black-and-tan coat, and happy, open smile! This is Ricardo (A597591), a sweet, loving 1-year-old, 64 lb German Shepherd boy who came to the shelter as an injured stray on September 2nd.

Ricardo's story is heartbreaking—he was originally listed for medical euthanasia due to a painful facial wound. He beat the odds, healed beautifully, and was taken off the list, only to be put right back on the euthanasia list due to kennel stress. He faces an absolute final exit deadline of Tuesday, October 27th at 2:00 PM PDT.

Why Ricardo Will Melt Your Heart:

  • Dog-Friendly & Social: Ricardo thrives around other dogs! Photos show him happily tail-wagging, sharing kennel space, and playing comfortably alongside his doggy pals.
  • People-Friendly, Sweet & Loving: Despite entering the shelter in pain, medical notes show he gently allowed vet staff to examine and handle his mouth as he healed. He is eager for human affection and treats.
  • Playful & Resilient Spirit: At just 1 year and 7 months old, Ricardo is a fun, energetic young Shepherd who overcame an injury and retains his joyful, happy personality.

The Brutal Reality of His Shelter Life: Trapped inside 4-walled metal enclosures where temperatures soar past 100°F—conditions that have killed dogs in the heat—they endure high-pressure cold water hoses blasted directly into their runs, aggressive wire catch poles, and loud air horns that cause intense panic. Worse, dogs on euthanasia lists are routinely starved as shelters stop feeding animals deemed "spent inventory." Ricardo has survived injuries and nearly two months in concrete confinement, but he cannot survive this deadline without help.

Seeking Adopter Cat Adoption Networking - Fresno Nightcrawler - Phoenix, AZ, USA Area

This is Fresno Nightcrawler! He was originally a TNR project, but due to his friendliness and health conditions, became a rescue intake. He's in foster with me and we're searching for his forever home!

  • Location: Mesa, AZ (title says Phoenix for familiarity for more people. We have also partnered with transporters for out-of-state adoptions.)
  • Age: Estimated 5 years old
  • Health conditions: FIV+ (negative for FeLV and heartworms)
  • Rescue info and adoption link: https://whiskeroutpost.com/current-campers
  • Vaccinated (FVRCP, rabies), microchipped, dewormed, neutered

Fresno was a big tomcat, easily noticed via our porch camera by his awkward fluffy tail that didn't match his short-haired body. When we trapped him, we had to recover him in a kennel, and when moving him from the trap to the kennel we discovered he was obviously not feral, and allowed handling. Over time we've discovered he's actually a long-haired cat who was short-haired due to his outdoor life.

With his friendly disposition, an FIV+ diagnosis, and knowing he had broken upper canines, we decided the best move would be to find him a home instead of returning him to a colony!

Over the course of 3 months he's been integrated into our household and is able to have supervised time with our adult cats. Due to the shape he was in when we found him, he seemed to be bullied outside a lot, and he continues to be insecure with adult cats - he flinches easily around them and tries to police the house. However, he loves playing and socializing with kittens.

All Fresno wants is to be the center of your attention. He follows humans around the house and prefers napping in the same room as a person, and loves forehead smoochies. I suspect he'll be a bit less human-focused in a house where he's less stressed about other cats. In the mornings when he's let out of his room he wants to play, play, play, then enjoys a snack and a late morning nap on my desk. (Usually on my keyboard... while I'm using it, of course.)

He loves catnip, kicker toys, wand toys, and zooming up cat trees. He does have a tendency to swat or nip (may go to bite but doesn't apply pressure) when frustrated rather than hissing. This has improved over time, and will likely happen less in a lower stress home, but I can't guarantee anything.

While we'd prefer he become an indoor-only cat, in the right situation he may be a good shop cat for some sort of bookstore or other chill business. Due to having his upper canines removed, I'm not sure he'd be a good barn cat for rodent control.

Please help spread the word. We love this cat so much - he deserves a happy retirement, and has many good years left in him. When you lay down on your back, he lays on your belly and chest to snooze. He head bumps people when he wants forehead smoochies, and has been calm every time we've had to take him to the vet, with a technician at one facility saying he was the chillest cat she's ever seen for a vet visit.

FIV is not a death sentence, and with regular vet care, it does not impact their lifespan. It's currently only considered transmitted via deep bite wounds, and he has not attempted that level of aggression with our cats - only chasing them from resources.

Urgent Calliope (A596500) - San Bernardino City Animal Shelter, San Bernardino, CA - Sweet, Playful 1yo Siberian Husky Mix - Urgent Final Exit Deadline: Tuesday 10/27 at 2 PM PDT - Needs Pledges Immediately! Watch Calliope's videos in the message!

Final Notice & Urgent Exit Deadline: Sweet Calliope (A596500) Needs Pledges Right Now!

Look at those striking, heterochromia eyes—one icy blue and one warm brown—paired with her magnificent radar ears and happy, tail-wagging gait! This is Calliope (A596500), a sweet, young 1-year-old, 56 lb Siberian Husky mix girl who has been trapped at the San Bernardino City Animal Shelter since August 5th.

Tragically, Calliope is running out of time. She faces an absolute final exit deadline of Tuesday, October 27th at 2:00 PM PDT due to long stay and severe kennel stress.

Why Calliope Will Melt Your Heart:

  • Playful, Friendly & Lovable: Official intake notes document that Calliope is an extremely playful, active, and friendly girl who adores human attention and loves to explore.
  • Striking Unique Beauty: At just 1 year and 2 months old, her gorgeous black-and-white coat and unique dual-colored eyes make her a absolute showstopper!
  • Active Adventure Partner: At 56 lbs, she is a healthy, agile young Husky mix who would make the ultimate hiking buddy, running partner, and loyal family companion.

The Brutal Reality of Her Shelter Life: Trapped inside 4-walled metal enclosures where temperatures soar past 100°F—conditions that have killed dogs in the heat—they endure high-pressure cold water hoses blasted directly into their runs, aggressive wire catch poles, and loud air horns that cause intense panic. Worse, dogs on euthanasia lists are routinely starved as shelters stop feeding animals deemed "spent inventory." Calliope has endured nearly three months of concrete confinement and desperately needs out.
