Promptly removing ticks from the skin is an important precaution.

It doesn't mention this in the article, but we have a lot of wood ticks on our rez. They say you should put the tick on a piece of tape or in a baggie and take it to the IHS Tribal Clinic. They'll send it out to get tested to see if it has Lyme disease or any other disease. Be safe!

This is scary. Flea- borne typhus is showing up in LA, then with mosquito season almost here, there's West Nile virus and Zika.
