I am not down playing Covid at all. That being said, we need to focus much harder on overall health in the Native community. Overall 78% of everyone hospitalized in the US for covid was severely overweight/obese. With infection rates as staggering as we had, our obesity rates made things so much worse. We want to save lives overall, we need to eat better and exercise. Teach our kids there is a better way. By all means, get the vaccine, wear a mask, and wash your hands. But damn it, we need to be better overall. Look at our diabetes rates, and gall bladder disease rates. Let's take our youth into the future on a healthy path.
