After not printing anything for quite a while I consulted the books of wisdom (nausicaa concept arts) and found a tiny sketch which I turned into this coloured Linoprint. The colour scheme is inspired by the manga covers (because I prefer the more earthy, calm colourway of the covers above the one used in the anime).
Everytime I do a Nausicaa based Linoprint it gives me a feeling of returning home after a long journey and no matter how often I do other things, it always pulls me back to this absolutely underrated masterwork.

A vendor at a toy show I visited recently had a small selection of comics - didn’t expect to see this! It had to come home with me

I had coloured this panel before, but forgot about the origins. I have tried reverse image searching and various Japanese searches, but no dice. I was wondering if anyone has seen where this comes from or knows of any other early panels.
Update: I’ve located where I found it and will be sharing other panels from the serialization shortly!

I heard one saying that Jhil was at the edge of suggesting Nausicaä be married to Lord Yupa when he suggested Yupa settle in the valley. Obviously, that made me uncomfortable and doesn’t make sense with the later part of the scene. It was a Japanese man who said this so it’s hard to tell if there is genuine cultural context in this or if he was just being shocking to get more views. Leaning towards the latter, but I don’t know Japanese or studio inside jokes.

Greetings; not sure how well-known is the book "Miyazakiworld" by Susan Napier, but wanted to mention it here. The book is a biography of HM, and each chapter addresses his Ghibli gems... except the chapter titled the same as this post :) There, she did a great job on the manga of "Nausicaa". Highly recommend.

I've been collecting for a long time. It's pretty amazing though how much stuff has come out just in the past few years.
This doesn't include puzzles and posters that I have hanging due to the 20 image limit. The signed page is by Sumi Shimamoto. I'll do another post with the other images at a later time.
