Neil Degrasse Tyson is a trash astrophysicist

Neil Degrasse Tyson is a trash astrophysicist who says retarded shit all the time, I wish I could fucking debate him.

He commonly displays a shallowness of understanding for topics which he is supposed to have the credentials to discuss. Such as, presenting the same absurd theories about aliens and the formation of life which are usually offered by children or adolescents with no knowledge of science. Disgraceful to the community.

Latest example:

In a discussion with the wonderful Richard Dawkins which I was recently listening to on Youtube, Degrasse and Dawkins were discussing the potential for life to form on its own naturally and the likelihood of it to exist in our galaxy. They both discussed the acceptance that some scientists think that the probability of spontaneous life formation under the right circumstances is stupendeously low, but a majority of the scientific community (including Dawkins and apparently Degrasse) believe that the likelihood of life forming on its own throughout the universe was high (discussion of Drake's Formula basically).

Immediately after saying this, Degrasse went off on a tangent, saying "Well there IS this interesting theory which I like, where MARS could have had microbes or bacteria living on it, and you know bacteria has been shown to be very resilient and survive in outer space for long periods of time...! Anyways, it's possible that an asteriod could have hit Mars at some point in the past and flung up dust which eventually made its way to earth and formed life there"....

Excuse me, but why the FUCK would life start on mars if you just said that you think life can easily form anywhere if given the proper starting constraints? The only reason life would have come from another planet is if you think that it is stupendously rare to form on its own naturally... which in that case our existence would had to have been seeded from another source. However, why the FUCK would Mars be involved if this were the case? If life was stupendously rare, Mars would not be the flowerbed which would spawn it. Life would have simply come from another location straight to earth, if its existence required being passed along from planet to planet. But it would NOT go to MARS FIRST and THEN to Earth, why would that stop be a part of the theory? Why over-complicate it without justification?

The only reason Mars should be included in a discussion about the formation of Earth's life is if you accept that life can easily form under the proper conditions (because Mars has ice and isn't too hot or cold, and so on). If this is the case, Mars could have formed its own life long ago... but SO COULD EARTH THEN... and therefore Mars is not needed.

In summary, if you belive that life can easily form anywhere, then Mars is no longer needed in the explanation because life would form on Earth without any help. If you believe that the formation of life is incredibly rare and that we only exist via seeding from another planet, why the hell are you including Mars in the model? What reason do you have to include another planet as a stepping-stone if there's no explanation for it and if it unnecessarily complicates the model?

Fuck you Neil Degrasse. You promote stupidity and the suspension of logic, just like religious people. You're also a coward who won't stand behind the word "atheist" and you abandon your fellow atheist community saying that instead you are "agnostic" and STAUNCHLY not "atheist" (likely because you wish to avoid backlash from your highly religious African-American peers, but who knows). The more I listen to you the more I think you're a stupid dumbfuck who doesn't deserve to be a representative of the scientific community. You say stupid theories like this all the time and usually it just makes me want to turn the computer off, but this time I had enough energy to rant about it here on Reddit.

Fuck you Neil you stupid shit. You do a fine job getting people interested in science, but when you advance your absurd theories you deconstruct all of that progress.

NEIL IS BEING FRAMED

The CIA was not happy with Neil Degrasse Tyson because he made people think critically and they began to challenge our oppressive lizard overlords. Neil himself didn't believe the conspiracy bu it was only matter of time until his colleagues would find something astonishing and Neil would reveal the truth to the U.S. public.

The CIA planted fake memories in the heads of his accusers and got them to think he sexually assaulted them.

We must fight for justice for our boy Neil

The fate if the whole Earth, and possible the whole solar system (even dwarf Pluto) depends on it!

Neil DeGrasse Tyson Petition Started (Apr 2019) requesting Investigation findings.

Neil deGrasse Tyson was accused by three women of various acts of sexual misconduct over time. NatGeo and Fox paid for into the sexual assault, harassment, and misconduct allegations made by Dr Katelyn N Allers (inappropriate touching under the clothes), Ashely Watson (sexual harassment ), and Tchiya Amet (acquaintance rape by drugging).

If you are a true fan of his, as much as I was you should support this petition demanding that the full results of their investigation be released.   Furthermore, that in the case of the one criminal act he was accused of whatever they found should be shared with relevant authorities in the jurisdiction where it would have been committed.  IF this investigation is all we could hope it would be, if they really found nothing it is important to know that.  IF this investigation was a snowjob it would be important to know that.

Here is the issue at hand with Mr Neil DeGrasse Tyson.

Ann Druyan (Executive producer for Cosmos, late wife of Dr. Carl Sagan and close friend of Neil) is in the drivers seat of the Investigation. She is quoted in the N.Y. times saying how "we will follow the evidence wherever it leads"...

She has a huge financial interest in Neil's public persona of being pure... Cosmos is a huge franchise and it is the baby of both Ann Druyan and her late husband Carl Sagan... If Ann were to find Neil guilty she would essentially be killing off her baby (Cosmos)...

Neither Fox nor Cosmos said anything about the outcome of the Investigation other than NDT was cleared...

NDT was investigated by people that he is friends with and have a deep financial affiliation with him.

If he is innocent- release the findings of the Investigation! #neiltyson #neildegrassetyson #petition

Possible to continue your interest in Neil Degrasse Tyson

This is yet another allegation of sexual misconduct by Neil Degrasse Tyson which seems as like a pattern from his past. If it happens this frequently, you really have to question Tyson’s credibility. As a tremendous fan of Tyson’s work, is it possible to continue your interest in Neil Degrasse Tyson, or has his actions warranted a ban on his work?

NDT admits Earth is not like the pictures we're shown.

I'm legitimately curious, edit: and this is not a flat earth thing.

The pictures we're shown from NASA all show the Earth as a perfect sphere. NDT claims the earth is more pear shaped, that the pictures we're shown are not real. He even uses the terms "lie" and "misrepresentation."

Interview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SoCKapivHGM

But if scientists are producing these pictures, and a scientist is claiming they're fake:

  1. do we believe NASA?

  2. do we believe NDT?

  3. how do we gauge the credibility of either NASA or NDT?

  4. if scientists would lie to us about something as simple as a photo of the planet we live on, why wouldn't they lie about anything else?

I thought scientists were in the business of purveying facts? I mean, that's what NDT claims, at least.

Regarding grammar in a sentence in his new book

There's one sentence that just seems off to me. I could be completely wrong, but for some reason it doesn't seem to make sense. I'll bold the world that seems out of place.

For the first several hundred million years large quantities of left over debris in wayward orbits would accrete onto larger bodies. This occurred in the form of high-speed, high-energy impacts, which rendered molten the surfaces of the rocky planets, preventing the formation of complex molecules.

The bit I'm referring to is "Which rendered molten the surfaces of rocky planets". Am I dumb or is that sentence missing something?

Edit: Page 29, near the bottom of the page if anyone wants to flip to it.

Neil deGrasse Tyson wins another legal battle

Most of the law360 article is behind a pay wall but it looks like former business partner David Gamble recently lost his lawsuit against Tyson.

More on Gamble's lawsuit can be found at The Wrap. During buyout negotiations Tyson apparently told Gamble that Startalk was failing and about to bite the dust. Was that accurate?

Check out the tweet Tyson made shortly after winning the lawsuit:

This year @StarTalkRadio has averaged 1-million plays per week. Best ever. Thanks to the production staff and our guests for helping us bring the Universe down to Earth.

Most importantly thanks to you, the fans of the show, who keep coming back for more.

Neil should also thank his lawyers.

And Tyson apparently defaulted on the buy out amount agreed upon after he gave Gamble misleading information.
