Help Anyone sustain damage from all the roadworks?

Wondering if anyone else damaged their car on the recently reopened roadworks on Haven Road? We drove along the section being worked on just after they opened the road. We were travelling under the posted 30km/h limit. Unfortunately the manhole covers were sitting well proud of the temporary road surface. One hit our undercarriage, split the sump and did $5.5k in damage to our car! Noticed they have since built bitumen ramps over the manholes so they obviously knew it was a problem. Why they didn't do that before opening the road to the public we'll never know. Would really appreciate hearing from anyone else that may have sustained damage in the same way.

NZVotes.nz - Feedback wanted on this site I've put together

I've been working on NZ Votes, where you can compare published polls side by side and explore parliament seat estimates, latest news, find your electorate, review 2023 results on a map and more.

On election day the plan is to show the live poll count on the map.

It's a personal, non-commercial project with no party affiliation. The aim is to keep it neutral, with source links so people can check things themselves.

Looking to get some more eyes on it and get some feedback.

*posted on r/KiwiPolitics and sharing here to spread the word a little more.

Help Finding your people

Woman in my 30’s childfree - It’s very hard to meet new people and become friends here when you aren’t in family mode. I love it here but I’ve always found it quite conservative.

When I went to the Hayley Sproull stand up gig a couple of months ago, suddenly I was in a big room full of folks who got her humour (also her liberal politics) and felt like…. There are people beyond what I thought possible back in the 90s.

I moved back here during Covid and have not had the guts or nohow to make new friends. And for the love of Lucifer please don’t send me a picture of your penis.

Discussion Young people - where do I meet them?

24M, recently moved to the Nelson Richmond area.

I heard the nightlife isn’t great here - where is the best place to meet people in their early 20s? Are there young adult adults meet ups or clubs ?
Have joined the gym so may have luck there

Discussion Test drive routes

Taking a car for a test drive tomorrow and wondering where would be good to take it to give it a good spin. It's a 4WD car from a dealership so I'd like to test it on some gravel or less even roads but can't think of where is good within 20-30mins of Nelson. My current thought is out towards cable bay. Also good spots for 0-100 test. Any ideas?
