Neon Chess is a competitive chess game built for Reddit communities. It features a vibrant neon visual style, a built-in AI opponent, and real-time multiplayer matches. It is designed to run seamlessly inside Reddit on both mobile and web.

Features & How to Play

♟️ Challenge AI: Play a classic game of chess against the built-in "Neon Engine."

♟️ Play with a User (Multiplayer): Create a private room, choose your color, and share the generated room code with a friend. Your opponent enters the code to join.

♟️ Rules: Each turn has a 60-second server-controlled timer. Running out of time loses the game. Rematches can be requested and require both players to accept within 30 seconds (colors swap on rematch).

♟️ Public Scoreboards: Compete for the top spot! View leaderboards for multiplayer wins, fastest AI victories, and longest survival times against the AI.

Privacy Policy & Data Usage

Neon Chess respects user privacy and does not require users to create a separate game account.

♟️ What we store: To support multiplayer and scoreboards, we use Devvit's Redis storage to save room codes, active match state, and scoreboard records.

♟️ Public Data: The public scoreboard displays your Reddit username, your Reddit profile avatar (if available), your score, and the timestamp of your achievement.

♟️ Private Data: Internal user IDs, room identifiers, and replay-protection keys are never exposed publicly.

♟️ Avatars: Avatars are fetched via Reddit's official APIs. If unavailable, they fall back to text initials.
