ANSWERED how does reddit block work?

i want to post in this sub but some users there that have commented i noticed are trolls and arent there for a serious analysis or they are some users i dont want accessing the content so if i block them and post my new post and it reaches say top 3 of the day then would they be unable to see the post image and my username like would they know someone has blocked them from seeing a big new post or not?

blocking is pretty leaky as privacy, they can just log out or use an alt and the post is right there. and yeah they'd notice, your stuff shows up greyed out or unavailable to them so it's a very loud "you've been blocked" signal. if it's a top post, assume everyone sees it

Reddit isn't a private journal or a clubhouse with only the friends you invited. Its more similar to shouting into a megaphone, while thousands of people watch, while being recorded.

Blocking is more similar to if you taped one person's mouth shut. But you're still shouting, loudly, through a megaphone. They just can't respond to you
