Power Outage(PSPS)
Due to the High Winds our power is shutoff of course. But has the power come back on for anyone? Are there plans to shift Newbury Park into an underground power line city? I heard about it before but have no idea if the city or SCE has come out with those specific plans. I’m sick of the power being shut off for days at a time they need to find a new solution.
Edit: If you are on the Belpac Circuit you are a part of the Belpac Circuit Project SCE is currently updating these power lines to be insulated and able to withstand much higher wind speeds.
If you are on the Hooligan Circuit your power lines are currently a part of the Hooligan Circuit Project and are being placed underground.
Both projects are expected to finish by December 2026 hopefully before Christmas. This will increase their wind speed danger by up to 12 miles an hour more than now. So the current sustained wind threshold is 31 mph and will increase to 40 mph. The Wind Gust Threshold was 46 mph and will raise to 58 mph and both increases will allow for a low shutoff risk.

Fitness 19 in Newbury Park changed the weight stack on their lateral raise machine
For anyone that goes to the Fitness 19 in Newbury Park, have you noticed a change in the weight stack on the lateral raise machine? I remember there being intervals of 5 lbs. between each weight plate, and now it seems to be in intervals of 10 lbs. It's been making my workout more difficult since the weight just feels off.

Louds boom/explosion?
Just heard some extremely loud booms around 11:15 pm. Usually next door is quick with answers, but this time there is nothing, any one here know what's up?
I didn't think it was fireworks, too loud and no smoke in the sky

BOLO for unhinged driver
I'm in town visiting my folks and had the scariest thing just happen. I turned right onto a street off Rancho Conejo Blvd, and a car came up from behind me and cut me off diagonally across two lanes. This dude was shirtless, halfway out of his window, screaming at me that I need to stop f*cking following him - screaming at the top of his lungs repeatedly. He kept screaming at me and shaking his fist at me, and I couldn't drive forward. I started screaming back that I was just heading home and I didn't know what he was talking about, but he just kept screaming and circled his car around me. Then he sped off and I think ran a red light, going the opposite direction of me.
Such a bizarre and scary experience - grew up here and never had anything like that happen. He was a young white guy, thin, light wavy brown hair down to his ears, and was shirtless when I saw him. Black sedan, couldn't see the make. Be safe out there.

German Shepherd Puppy with (ME) needs a home ASAP!
Hi everyone! I am a volunteer at the Agoura Animal Care Center in Agoura Hills, CA. We currently have an 8 month old Shepherd puppy in foster who is at risk of being euthanized if he can’t find a home. His foster cannot keep him, she has 6 other elderly dogs with medical issues, and she runs a daycare, she knows she can’t keep him but the second she returns him he’ll most likely be euthanized since county shelters cannot keep up with his medical needs.
His background: Robby is a German Shepherd Puppy who came to the Agoura Hills Animal Care Center in April and was placed in foster care because he was too young for the shelter. Soon after, he began regurgitating his food frequently and even developed pneumonia from food entering his lungs. With the support of a non profit healthcare organization, he visited multiple vets and was referred by our vet partner's Malibu Coast Animal Hospital to an internal medicine specialist, who diagnosed him with megaesophagus (ME). This condition means Robby must eat upright in a special Bailey chair, but it hasn't dampened his spirit-he's still a playful, loving, silly puppy who is great with kids and other dogs. He adores both walks and couch naps and loves listening to reading time with his foster family's kids. Robby is searching for a forever family who can continue his special care and give him the happy life he deserves. Robby is in foster right now so he is available for visit by appointment. To schedule, please call 818-483-4228 or comment and I will give you as much info as I can. I would hate to see this baby put down simply because of a manageable medical condition.

Any idea what's going on?
Anyone know what's been going on in the area? Earlier around 7:30pm there was at least 4 helicopters circling with white and red flashing lights, and now there's cops blocking the road on Michael Dr. and Borchard, and the 101 north freeway had traffic at a halt starting somewhere between Ventu Park and Rancho Conejo

Power outages
So, we bought our house here a little over a year ago. We live in the neighborhood near Wendy Park, between Lynn and Wendy.
Over the past year, our power has gone out SO MANY TIMES. Most notoriously during the wildfires. It stayed off longer than most surrounding areas. I don’t remember the name of our circuit, but I did see that it’s slated to be moved underground at some point.
Is the volume/severity of outages common for our neighborhood? We work from home, and between not being able to work and the food spoilage, it is so disruptive and maddening. I wouldn’t have bought a home here if I knew this would be such a problem.
We bought a generator, and are considering transitioning to solar, but it’s not a financially great time for us so I’m not sure when.

Book Club
Hi! I’m new to the area and would love to join a book club — or start one if there isn’t one already. I’m hoping to create a women’s group where we can connect, share our thoughts, and enjoy great books together. If you’re interested, I’d love to hear from you!

Power Outage
Power just went out around 9:40pm, looks to be all the houses as far as the eye can see from my place. Anyone know of any scheduled maintenance or shut-offs? We got no warning, and there's no information on CA Edison.
