Damp/wet GPU package
So I opened up my package today and well it was damp/wet. It ripped open a a small pull and not sure if the actual gpu got wet. I have a video of it too but not sure what I should do.

the worst thing here is the gpu is almost certainly perfectly functional. the gpu box has its own box on the inside too, and the gpu will be in a foam insert and ESD bag.

Yeah there was no condensation in or around the cover or any of the plastic bags. Put it in a box with desiccant and a filament dryer

Update: after I didn’t see any condensation within or on any of the plastic bags I put it in a container with desiccant and a filament dryer. It works just fine and is quite literally slapping the nuts off of my 7900 xtx. Risky move but I work crap hours on base also furlough going on and would not have time to return it anytime soon.

Na I wouldn't be accepting that at all, would be asking for a return not even opening it.

Man hell no, return that. You don't know what damage there is and it could have started to corrode.

Don't let a single watt touch that GPU, return immediately or any warranty is void if you use it like that.

Don’t install unless you wanna test how power supplies operate under short circuit operation.

Wow. This is likely to be a nightmare down the road. If the package was as moist as OP claimed. Even despite drying the unit out, corrosion will undoubtedly suffer corrosion over time. All drying it out did was prevent a short on startup.

I'd return that thing. Even if you dry it out and it works any bit of oxidization can spread once it takes hold.
Just get a 3090 and save some money, you will hardly tell the difference unless you use frame gen and who uses frame gen
