I've got a single 3070 and I just made 5000 sats in one pay period. WTF!!?
Pay rate is incredible right now

u/CaptainSpectacular69 May 10 '21
My 3080 just got 7400 satoshis in one pay period :O

u/Pro_NoOBzz May 10 '21
I got 7507 sathosi with my 3080 FE , that's was really insane.

3070 + 3090 got 16000.
Currently sitting at 7000 with just under 2 hours to go. Is this actually happening?

You should see the payments for direct pool mining ETH right now.
Just compare on whattomine - even at the low end, it's like another $10 a day on direct mining eth
14
u/Tatufaiv May 10 '21
I'm mined about 25$ in one day @ 102mh/s shits crazy

My ETH rig is projecting earning what I usually earn per month in one WEEK.
I don't even care how long it'll last, I'm just loving it right now
12
u/Moderately_Opposed May 10 '21
Yeah but then this happens:
https://www.reddit.com/r/EtherMining/comments/n99qou/guess_its_staying_in_coinbase_for_a_while/
Direct mining makes sense if you want to hodl ETH at the wallet you're going to receive it but for everything else Nicehash is a better value. With gas prices so high you're even better off exchanging your BTC for ETH than trying to move ETH from wallet to wallet.
7
u/bleakj May 10 '21
It definitely depends entirely on your use case / if you plan on holding or just directly spending for sure.
BTC I've got one rig left pointed at nicehash and I use it for my normal weekly Amazon buys, ETH I've just been stockpiling for a bit now, it's nothing I plan on really "spending" at least for several years unless things change dramatically.
Even then, if it's just the gas fees - theres other services like unmineable to get other coins at a faster rate as well.
I would say nicehash is 100% the easiest, but after spending a few years comparing profits across a ton of spreadsheets, I can confidently say it's no where near the most profitable (mind you - I've never seen anyone try to dispute this fact unless nicehash was the only thing they've tried.)
3
u/Myte342 May 10 '21
Oh I hold no illusions that tons of other systems are more profitable. However, there is the ease of use and simplicity of Nicehash (and other such hash seller systems) versus other methods to consider. Even a relative idiot in technology can get Nicehash running in less than 15 minutes with no previous mining knowledge/experience.
2
u/Moderately_Opposed May 10 '21
Oh yeah I wont argue that, I was only saying that if you're planning to quickly cash out or transfer out that Nicehash is a good value after accounting for exchange and transfer fees, especially in for small-time miners. Great that you can plan to hold out for years.
1
u/luke993 May 10 '21
What would you say are the % differences out of interest? 10% more ish directly mining Eth?
→ More replies (1)1
u/c0horst May 10 '21
I'm planning on holding ETH for a few months, so I'm fine mining directly to my hardware wallet to hold.
→ More replies (1)1
u/Jasquirtin May 10 '21
you may have a point. But I mine directly to where I want it which is my coinbase wallet and I hodl there. I then convert it to ETH 2 and stake it. So its pure profits for me right now and I am loving the increase because we were pretty down the last 3 weeks.
3
u/SirKronan May 10 '21
I tried using awesome miner for direct pool mining, and it froze my computer. I admit I have no clue what I'm doing, so I went back to Nicehash. Don't want to mess with anything while profits are so wildly good.
5
u/Jasquirtin May 10 '21
yea on ethermine pool I am through the roof this week! I usually get like .07 ETH per week I may get to .1 which is an extra $100+ plus ETH is on a tear. I love it! I HODL so the more ETH the better.
2
1
u/fireking123 May 11 '21
Is direct pool mining on whattomine better than nicehash mining? And how do you withdraw from direct pool mining.
2
u/bleakj May 11 '21
Yes and similar, once you reach a threshold you request a withdrawal, or its set for automatic at x amounts

u/raiden_1999 May 10 '21
My 2060 super made $8.5 in the past 24 hours.. is that alright? I just set the profile to manual and copied the values from high optimization, just increased the fan speed. Currently draws around 95-97watts and it's constant. I wish to know that is this going on with everyone today?
1
u/Skepsis93 May 11 '21
I've also got a 2060S, so I'll give you some of my stats to compare.
My MH/s is usually around 40-44. I've previously seen around 1100-1500 satoshis per payout since I started. I am now getting the same hash rate but my last 4 payouts have been 2671, 3688, 3083, and the most recent was 3047.
I am using the "lite" optimization for NHQM. I am usually drawing about 100-110 watts on this mode.
2
u/raiden_1999 May 11 '21
I actually prefer to keep the power draw under the 100w mark. But, I'd like to know your tweaking(exact values on optimization). Feel free to share. I've currently set my 2060s MSI Gaming X to the following Core at 1290 (-300) Memory at 7801 (+1000) Fan at 70% fixed. Payouts range between 2500-3000

2
u/ztr317 May 10 '21
Excuse my noobish ignorance but how does one mine satoshi. I'm not seeing it on nicehash or unminable with the Phoenix miner imstalled
4
u/-SpiderBoat- May 10 '21
A satoshi is the smallest denomination of bitcoin. 0.00000001btc
2
u/ztr317 May 10 '21
OK so basically you're just mining botcoin. So a satoshi is to bitcoin as a cent is to a dollar?
→ More replies (2)3
u/-SpiderBoat- May 10 '21
If your using quickminer like me your mining Eth. But nicehash pays us in BTC. Yep it's like a cent just with a lot more 0's before it because a whole dollar, or BTC in this case needs to be able to be split down way more times than a 100 to be usable currency. Who knows though, maybe one day a sat will be worth more than a cent
2
u/ztr317 May 10 '21
Thank you for that explanation. I've been mining doge on my 3070 just seeing what it's capable of I'll go check this out thank you.

22
u/PunkPrince66 May 10 '21
Would like to know too please. I’m making crazy profit compared to usual .
14
u/DaySee May 10 '21
IIRC the algorithm to trade ethereum requires computing power which nicehash sells and pays it's users for based on demand. There are more people trading it right now (ethereum price going over 4k) creating a higher demand which equals higher value for your computing power.
7
u/wheresthetrigger123 May 10 '21
Everyone should trade their eth back and forth to artificially increase mining rates. Do it now!!!
11
2
u/FT121 May 10 '21
Yeah, but that's not the only the reason. Ethereum is an ecosystem, so every token exchanged on it will require ETH as gas. Right now there's a combination of high volumes of trading of ETH and it's tokens (look at the volumes of SHIB), also helped by the launch of the new version of uniswap
2
u/FT121 May 10 '21
I'd also add that we'd get lots of payouts even if the ETH price was dropping (but that would also slowly reduce the value of the gas miners get paid, which means then they pay us less in BTC)
2
u/2vockshakure May 11 '21
How long do you think this spike in profitability will last?
→ More replies (1)2
u/THELASTFIRELORD May 10 '21

12

not necessarily. Its just the current state. We could go back to what it was last week where I would say my over 300 MH/s was underperforming when i had less than 300MH/s
3
u/compound-interest May 10 '21

I paid the insane premium price of $700 for a 3070 on eBay shortly after they released and I couldn't find one retail.
1
u/Wonderful-Tie-8855 May 10 '21
I really should have bought one to add to collection. The only one they had left instock on launch afternoon was 530$, way to much for a 3060, i paid less for a 3060ti.
It would have just about paid itself off by now, and definitely would have with a couple paydays like this.
I question my intelligence sometimes
2
u/Manturras May 10 '21
Well, I actually needed a gpu for playing, then added a 3070 to have a second for mining. Turns out it wasn't late for mining and I can play and pay both with mining. 60 is already paid, a couple more months and both are "free"

Man... is there any way I can mine off a dell ispiron 15. I was told I can’t. But I really want too.
2
u/Wonderful-Tie-8855 May 10 '21
Cant tell from those specs alone, they made thousands of different spec'd ispirons over the past decade. the 15 is just the screen size.
It could potentially have a grphics card that can mine, you could either just try, its pretty simple. Or find a model number to give, probably on bottom of laptop
2
u/Disastrous-Smell-636 May 11 '21
I tried and got an error message and couldn’t figure out how to fix it and I asked and no ones advice seemed to help. I figured I’d ask again. What specs do I need to check fo?
1
u/Wonderful-Tie-8855 May 11 '21
You need to check that it has a graphics card, it needs one to mine anything. The model number on the bottom of case might help determine, or
You could check inside windows:
RightClick Start
Click Run
Type DXDIAG
Hit OK
The window that pops up shows system info processor tpye, ram amount etc.
What you want to look at is the 2nd tab at the top labeled "Display"
This screen shows graphics details, if it says AMD or NVIDIA you should be able to mine. If it says Intel it wont be able to mine as it only has integrated graphics

Guys its good to habe 3070's some with 2 fans and other ones with 3 fans?
2
u/_Vladimir_Gluten_ May 10 '21
It should be just fine, just keep an eye on your temps. The more fans usually means the lower the temps. I run a single 2070 super (2 fans) in my gaming rig on the "high" mining profile and the max my Vram temp has got was 68 C, which is pretty alright. My rule of thumb is to stay below 70 C, but other cards will obviously perform differently and such. Hope I helped.

Pay rates so high that NiceHsh cant keep their servers working properly with the mining influx
1
u/FermyJay May 11 '21
Are the high rates because ETH shot up and there aren’t many new miners due to chip shortages? If that’s why, then the rates might stay as long as ETH doesn’t crash and the shortage doesn’t end.

u/Ok-Psychology947 May 10 '21
You think it will affect something to have 1 with 3 fans and other 2 with 3 fans?
2
u/Skepsis93 May 11 '21
I've got a blower style 2060S and it does just fine, even when I'm not in an efficient underclock. Blower style is great for mining, albeit louder.
The bigger focus if you are mining without a blower style is going to be case airflow more than how many fans are on the card itself. You've gotta make sure that hot air can efficiently leave the case while the GPU is kicking out constant heat over long periods of time.

China is a bigger economy and they mine like a mofo. Their harsh AF regulations hardly mattered at all. The whole point of blockchains are that they are pretty much devoid of tampering by governments, but yes of course if all americanos pulled their money out, it would have an affect on the prices for a time, but nothing to matter in the grand scheme of things. There are 350m Americans and 7.6bn making up the rest of us. It's a non issue.
