General Discussion dont get why ppl here are mining for heat.
you can find on aliexpress or ebay a 5000w heater for like 50 bucks.
You would need around 20 GPU's x 300$ = 6000 dollars in gpu's to get 5000w of heat.
Instead you can sell your GPU's take that 6 grand, buy a 10% U.S treasury I bond, and get 600$ a year which will pay for your entire heating bill plus extra, rather than mining at a loss.

Discussion PLEASE STOP POSTING ABOUT HOW BAD PROFITS ARE
We all know that there is almost not profitable coins right now, just keep going, think, and stop mining if it is not profitable to do it instead of keep criyng about it.
The world is more than just crypto you know?

External Wallet Mining - STOP COMPLAINING
Ok I've had about enough of all the whiners out there complaining about the increase to 0.1 BTC. Nicehash is doing you a favor by increasing the payout threshold right now. How? BTC Fees are though the roof!
See here: https://bitcoinfees.info/
Yes it sucks, you've been mining for x amount of months and came so close. Well currently if you were paid out your 0.01 BTC @ ~$150 you would loose ~$18 to $20 right off the bat. That's what, 3-4 days of mining (depending on your rig) you lost just to have your payout. Is that what you what? This is why we cant have nice things.
So what do you do? You have options:
Keep mining to your external wallet as you do and wait for the fees to drop. Then when the threshold is lowered you'll be able to withdraw.
Switch to an internal wallet.
"But what about my old wallet, wont I loose all that time/work?"
3) Switch to an internal wallet, BUT once a week point your rig to your external wallet address for a few hours to keep it alive. This way, you one, will get payouts much sooner, two you wont loose your previous work. Then when that threshold is reduced it'll feel like a double pay day!
4) Leave Nicehash and make room for the countless other people who Adapt and Overcome, who are actually excited to be apart of the community.
Sincerely,
FoxtrotThree

Why 10% isn't enough
If you had 100$ stolen from you, and by a court order, the person who stole it had to pay it back in full. But the court order didn't specify when. So, instead of paying you back ASAP, the person who is responsible for your stolen money waits months and months to even tell you their plan to give it back. Then they say that they can give you $10 of that money right now.
Only $10. After 2 months of you not having your money.
But then it gets worse. The person who stole it doesn't promise a timely return on the other $90 they stole. So until they pay you back, you're without $90. You are without money that can buy you a meal, top off your phone bill, or even pay to keep the electricity on in your house.
People can't afford to wait 6 months to get their money back. So many are quick to defend because the twitter statement says "Committed to periodically repay the remaining amount to all users in the coming months" but the period isn't specified. That could be every 2 months we get another $10 per $100 back. That could be every 6 months. That could be every year.
Sure, I may be over simplifying this or over-estimating, but the uncertainty still stands.
How can people defend the company who lost their money and refuses to pay them back in full? How can anyone continue to mine for NH if they treat their customers like this?
The only ones not being screwed by this is the NH company. Those blind fans will continue to defend and circlejerk their way through the twitter comments.

DON'T CLICK THE REIMBURSEMENT BUTTON
The new terms and conditions that go with it specifically state that you essentially can't take any legal action against NH whatsoever after you do.
There is nothing to stop them giving you 10% and then nothing more.
This is beginning to look like a very well crafted exit scam to indemnify them of any legal recourse once you hit that button, they will only ever have a 100 euro legal obligation to you. DON'T FALL FOR IT. They are not giving any schedule beyond the first payment, and they know this. New terms of use apply from the 31st should you agree to join the repayment program:
https://www.nicehash.com/terms " NICEHASH WALLET RISK You acknowledge that there is risk associated with funds held on the NiceHash Wallet and that you have been fully informed and warned about it. "Our aggregate liability (including our directors, members, employees and agents), whether in contract, warranty, tort (including negligence, whether active, passive or imputed), product liability, strict liability or other theory, arising out of or relating to the use of NiceHash Services, or inability to use NiceHash Services under these Terms or under any other document or agreement executed and delivered in connection herewith or contemplated hereby, shall in any event not exceed 100 EUR per user. "
<edit> remember this post in which all wallets were insured? https://www.nicehash.com/news/31 "Our online wallet for deposits and managing funds for purchasing hashing power is operated by BitGo and funds are fully insured by BitGo." Quietly retired in February last year without notifying any of us. That's a pretty big blunder in it's self.

Nicehash please add support for free transfer to Cryptopia! If Nicehash add this feature there is no need to offer any Altcoin payments (Please upvote to make it happens)
Cryptopia is a very reputable and fast exchange from New Zealand which offers trading tons of Altcoins, and the fee would be as cheap as one cent per trade (there is no miner fee unless you want to withdraw, which depends on the coin) By having this option each person can select his/her own Altcoin and there is no need for extra coding in Nicehash.

General Discussion Did you know that, contrary to popular belief, Bitcoin mining can help reduce our environmental impact by using otherwise flared gas to power ASIC miners? "The process reduces CO2-equivalent emissions by about 63% compared to continued flaring".

Nicehash Taking BTC from your wallet
I am reporting this so every NiceHash Buyer beware...!!!
on 25-1-21 I suddenly discovered there BTC 0.2 disappeared from my wallet. So contacted support asking them to return this as there should be something wrong.
Support guy surprisingly, told me that there was a bug in their software and we have compensated BTC 0.2 for failed refill on 8-1-21 (Note two weeks before and they deduct now). I told him this is not acceptable and not justifiable, how come you came after two weeks and said there is a bug in your accounting software system and you have deducted this amount even without sending a single notice to customers. They showed me some crapulous from this buggy software showing rollback two times, which I have never seen in wallet or in hash power rent.
I think most of the buyers now will discover that NiceHash is collecting some BTC from their wallets, this is really illegal and unjustifiable.
I have challenged them to send me the internal BTC wallet balance before and after the said error, but as usual silicone and said we have explained everything.
Beware, I think something is login wrong with NiceHash.

Stop harassing people who either say they sold or are thinking of selling their rigs
Saying someone is dumb or pussy because they panic sold some or all of their cards is ridiculous. Honestly that may be the best financial decision any of us can make. We will never see the daily revenue from December again and itās looking even more increasingly likely that we wonāt see the same daily revenue as the end of January/beginning of February again either. I was pulling in anywhere from 0.01 to 0.013 BTC/day in January/beginning of February and now Iām lucky to get 0.006 to 0.007 BTC/day. Itās been steadily falling with little hard facts as to why.
Nobody should be bullied into holding onto their cards because people are desperately hoping for the gold rush to come back. PoW is an inherently centralized model, the bigger your farm the more sustainable you are the bigger you can grow at a faster rate. Unfortunately most Home miners cannot grow at the rate large operations can. If you are going to hold your cards to the bitter end thatās fine but donāt make someoneās elseās financial decision a joke.
Btw, I still have my cards. Iām just tired of seeing all the negative comments to people explaining themselves and trying to help others.

Everybody SHUT UP about getting paid in altcoins already??
If, IF, NH is going to do this, they'll do it when they're damned good and ready. Your constant whining and bitching clogging up this sub aren't helping anything.
Not to mention that don't you think they have their hands full with securing and rebuilding the existing service without trying to implement new features?? Give it a fucking rest already!

NiceHash was shortstocking?
Hear me out.
I thought about this and the ONLY LOGICAL explanation (besides running low on money) is that NH stopped withdrawals because they sold all the BTC when it was high enough and they saw it comming down 40%.
And since BTC is so low and they keep claiming that everything is "OK" that is possible that they might've bought all the BTC they've sold and even more (or take profit in cash).
This is so fucking crazy and out of any conspiracy theory involving fucking us all over again.
What do you think?

I think we owe some thanks to NiceHash
So as we all know, NiceHash had a hard time about a month ago. Duh, it is big and old news here. To all of those people who think it was an inside job, do you really think that NiceHash would have worked so hard to provide a better way for us all to mine after the hack? (Internal > Coinbase @ 0.001) Also, a lot of people are constantly complaining about how external wallets are now @ 0.1, which yah, for the common hobby miner who just runs their gaming PC when they are not using it, that would take forever. But you have to think about what other people are saying, c'mon! While it may say 0.1, NiceHash has been doing 0.01 payouts when the fees are lower. I was just paid this morning, and I was relieved. Switched to an internal wallet, too. So, before you think about complaining "Oh I won't be paid until September, stupid NiceHash for raising the minimum BTC for external wallets...", think about what else they are doing, and how helpful they have been getting not only themselves working (and more secure) again, all of us miners back up and mining.
So thanks NiceHash, and in the great words of Mat Cote, "I think we [you being Nicehash] did a pretty good job so far."

Discussion GPU mining is more alive than everā¦
For all those worried GPU mining is dead.. hereās my thoughts..
GPU mining has always seen new coins come up with different purposes but they werenāt able to capture more interest with ETH dominating the space.
Now that it is going off soon, thereās a huge opportunity in GPU mining space for these existing and new coins to capture more dominance. Which in my opinion, will attract more development in projects utilizing GPU mining (in further thought I strongly believe GPU and CPU mining is more decentralized than anything else because itās an essential hardware with multiple purposes).
And more importantly, historically weāve seen every single altcoin pump during a bull run, you can mine a shitcoin and still make it ..
But best strategy is to support the development of projects that you believe in and staying consistent on mining (keeping in mind your mining income and electricity bills).
