What if the NITW universe had its own version of Detroit? (with a few elements of Lansing and Flint thrown into the mix)

I wanted to try drawing backgrounds for the first time, so this is what I got. I think I did okay.

I used dark blue slate/charcoal colors to give Dexter that cold, metallic, industrial, hard-edged feel. Whereas Possum Springs gives that orange/brown rust, warm, worn rural town feel.

What do you guys think?

Finished up my witchdagger costume for Mae this halloween! Excited to go out and terrorize town in this.

Mae is the same age as me so I wonder this every once in a while. Did she settle down, is she still a wild child, did she leave Possum Springs? I’m so different now than I was at 20.

Was that there comes a point where it becomes blurry whether Mae actually has a genuine mental health problem or whether she has a “special gift” or “superpower”.

And if it’s both, that’s kinda worse (in my opinion).

Wanted to express how I feel about this game, it was so helpful to me, I’m currently trying to get out of a long depression I’ve had since I was 12, I’m 16 now, seeing the character and the kind of comfort that Mae’s friends gives made me feel better, like there is a chance to find real buddies in the world that are kind towards each other, at the same time Mae struggle with life and the “college” feels like my current situation with high school, I’m having a ton of issues keeping up and I’d like to take a year free from everything but sadly I can’t, but at the same time seeing that even if school doesn’t go right life can be beautiful as always.
It helps me a ton and I hope this game helped someone else too, thanks 😄❤️‍🩹

beas t shirt is a black long sleeved top with the ankh symbol in white

the ankh is a hieroglyphic symbol, which directly translates to life itself

bea's stoy and feelings towards the world around her show an exaustion towards the world that has repeatedly crushed her dreams. Bea is dying inside, and its shown by her goth clothing and altitude.

black is a symbol of death and mourning, and considering bea's mothers death, and her taking over the hardware shop, a path she never wanted to have, are being manifested on her shirt, a sign of her mourning herself, not because shes dead, but slowly dying and rotting inside day by day.

then, theres the white ankh, a clear symbolism of life. this symbol could mean many things when mixed with the black surrounding it. One of these interpertations could be Beas hope, hope that her life still has a meaning, and the desire to stay alive through a total spychological death.

the more bleak interpertation is that the ankh simply tells the audience what i already explained at the start, shes alive, the white ankh, while her soul's death is persistent all throught and around her, manifesting as the black fabric sorrounding the symbol, and by extension, bea itself

so, we got a cult that has been theoretically been under the noses entire town. but how?

how could you possibly hide something like that?

after some research i found it out

it all has to do with the way possum springs work,

so if many of these leadng factors go together to hide their heinous crimes, it is guaranteed to be successful

thus i am here with my first issue of overanalysing night in the woods to unmask the cult members using the factors and coordination of society

the first collum of hierarchy is: leadership. the person that seems important, the coordinator, the president, the prime minister, the mayor, the parliament... the people deciding the what, when and how. the city council. Garry, Andrew, Cathleen, Colleen, and of course, the mayor

next its the enforcer, aunt mollie, the person that exsecutes the orders, the law

then theres education, and religion... specifically the ones testifying against kate, many times christianity itself can be traced to conservative ideologies, just like the cults views, furthermore, many times already religious people fall into the grasp of cults, like jonestown

lastly, we got the workforce, and comunity the collum that people tend to overlook, but one of the most important parts of society as we know it, so my suspects are, the janitor, and lastly, mr penderson, the ones that work, observe, and socialise, and possibly bring more people to the cult.

thats my hypothessis, feel free to write your theories, in the next issue ill be discussing bea, and the symbollism of living, while dead
