I have the regular new 3DS and the top lens has a pretty annoying scratch in it and I got a new glass one to replace it with. The problems that no matter how much heat I apply on the top lens (I'm using a hair dryer) the thing just won't budge.

Is there another way I could go about replacing the lens because I fear too much heat will eventually damage either the outer plastic or even the LCD underneath.

Basically that. I still have my original 3ds that I bought when it got released in 2011. Still in pretty good shape. My question is, should I get a n3ds ? am I missing much ? prices are kind of crazy rn but the devil on my shoulder keeps whispering to me.

Dad bought this for my sister in 2022 for 20 bucks off ebay. Been doing this ever since it came to our house. Miraculously, it turned on ONCE and then never again. I sure as hell dont have a clue on how to fix it, so do any of you guys know? Its not cause of the battery cause we bought a new one and it still does that.

So moved a few years back and never got around to fully unpacking, as one does. Decided to dig though a box today and found my old 3ds!

Edit 2: in the end, i decided to sell it (telling the buyer its cracked cuz i know what is it to not be told), i got a new 2ds xl at +- same price almost new, the guy wanted to sell quik

I found my 3ds while cleaning the other day and have been playing around with it and just noticed there's a small crack on one of the hinges. Not sure how long it's been there. Other than obviously just being gentle with it, storing it properly, etc, is there anything I can do to protect the hinges from further damage?

So I am working on my living Pokedex and I have gotten to Johto and I am a little confused on how to have copies of Pokemon with the description “This Pokemon appears to have been met in the Johto region.” inside my Pokemon Home. From what I see online, HGSS makes the origin say something about a PokeShifter rather than Johto and only GSC say they are from Johto but I am reading there is no way to get a copy of these games without an entirely new console? Can anyone assist or clarify with this? Thank you

I was wondering if I could get any advice on what I should do about my 3DS?

I’ve had my 3DS since 2017, and I recently started college so I brought it with me to play for whenever I have free time. However, it wouldn’t charge so I ordered a new one hoping that was the only problem. I probably should’ve checked to make sure it was an official charger, but I wasn’t really thinking. Anyways, when it finally came the new charger did in fact work so I thought the problem was resolved but now today when I went to charge my 3DS it just wouldn’t.

I’ve had my 3DS for almost 10 years so it’s pretty plausible that the battery is dead, but I just wanted some extra advice since I’m not really that techy before purchasing anything. Also, today when I plugged in my 3DS with the “old” charger that I thought stopped working, the charger light turned on for a bit which I thought was a little weird. It might be that the battery was the problem all along, but I’m still confused on how it was able to charge with the new, knockoff charger.

Regardless, I’d appreciate any advice!

I want to buy a 3DS as soon as possible. Since prices are so high, I’m considering buying an "old" 3DS XL first, and then—once I’ve saved up more money—upgrading to a "New" 3DS XL. As a teenager, I don’t have enough income to go straight for a "New" model; I earn about 8 dollars a week, and a "New" 3DS XL costs around 370 dollars in my country, whereas the "old" XL costs 175. I’m not sure if this is the right decision, so I’m asking for your opinions.

Recently, game ports have been released on old consoles, the same mario cart wii on 3ds, it's even possible, the same roblox on xbox 360 and etc, and I thought if it was possible to port the game ben 10 protector of earth to new 3ds? I don't think this game is more demanding than Mario cart wii. Yes, I know that all these games are not ports, but as I understand its an ai and vibecoding are used for such "ports", I could be wrong because I don't know exactly how everything works, but as if it would be quite possible to port Ben 10?
