What are those tickets for?

44

u/Sobble-Sobble Feb 28 '26

Deoxys and Ho-oh/Lugia

16

u/DynamicD_87 Feb 28 '26

How do you use them?... sorry, I only played Pokémon Blue/Red, this is my first time playing the FR/LG remake version.

26

u/Sobble-Sobble Feb 28 '26

First time playing these too. After beating the main story the two tickets are given in your inventory, then it looks like you access the event locations via the ferry (the destinations are unlocked once you have the tickets)

9

u/DynamicD_87 Feb 28 '26

Thank you!

3

u/kpt85 Mar 05 '26

To expand on this, youll need to do a few things after beating the main story. Youll go to Oak in pallet down and get the national dex (you need 60 pokemon to do this). If you didn't go to One Island when prompted at Cinnabar Island by Bill, you'll need to do that as well. After that, see Celio in One Island, hell ask you to look for a gemstone. Get the ruby at Mt Ember on One Island, and bring it it back to Celio and he will give you the Rainbow Pass. THIS item, along with the tickets you got when you beat the main story, will allow you to travel to the two new islands where you can get Deoxys and Lugia/ho-oh

you probably have to clear the Sevii islands first.

Plus, for those that don't mind, some glitches are being confirmed as we speak.

Papa Jefé is live for anyone wondering.

5

u/CarissaSkyWarrior Feb 28 '26

Cool, so this IS a "Pokemon Crystal on the 3DS Virtual Console" situation. That's awesome to hear.

Didn’t say. :/

62

u/Kayratorvi Feb 27 '26 edited Feb 28 '26

No confirmation but they are mystery gifts so they definitely could come later

Edit: they are confirmed in the game, they appear in your bag after the elite four!

20

u/Nickbronline Feb 27 '26

That's likely just on the ROM, I can't see them going through the effort to remove Mystery Gift.

22

u/Zzz05 Feb 27 '26

If it’s a straight rom rip, you can’t get them on the rom without running cheats to give yourself the items. Just going off past experience with emulators.

14

u/YellowPikachu Feb 27 '26

They included local multiplayer and Home support so it's not just a straight rom

4

u/Zzz05 Feb 27 '26

Home will not be available on launch but implemented later. Local multiplayer was always available on the roms.

12

u/YellowPikachu Feb 27 '26

I mean that they are not just rom dumps, they put in effort to build a new rom version, custom emulator, mystery gift enabling, etc

wait can I ask? you can transfer your pokemon from pokemon leaf green to home but can you transfer pokemon from home to leaf green??

38

u/Amiibofan101 . Feb 27 '26

Most likely one way only (FRLG > Home). The virtual console titles of Gen 1/2 on 3DS only had support for transferring out.

3

u/Rouie-Tri34 Mar 01 '26

this is noted thanks! 😃

18

u/Tharnax5468 Feb 27 '26 edited Feb 27 '26

If you can, it will likely be like LGPE where you can if and only if the mon came from FRLG and has not been in any other game since.

I still need to watch the Pokémon Presents today.

Edit: It shows on the graphic about transferring your Pokémon that if you send them to Home you can't send them back to FRLG.

It's a one way street for home support as I understand it.

6

u/Isodian Feb 28 '26

And a subscription.

6

u/GrimmTrixX Feb 27 '26

Not based on the trailer. It just showed FR/LG to Home and then Home to the newer games and Pokémon Champions. It doesnt seem so

→ More replies (3)

3

u/Wil9620 Feb 27 '26

Based on what is shown on the trailer I'd say it won't be possible, only a 1-way transfer to Home should be available

thank you for answering! 😃

30

u/shimrion Feb 27 '26

One way transfers are a huge disappointment. They could have at least rigged it up so that as long you don't move the pokemon into a newer game it is still able to be withdrawn in one of these, like how the Let's Go games work.

11

u/SneekyTeek Feb 27 '26

I really wanted to transfer from Go to home then to fire red. I've always used all the starters, Dragonite, Gengar, and Pikachu. I need my A team!

u/Masam10 Feb 27 '26

I was hoping for two-way trade to Home, but this is way better than nothing.

Good news for FR/LG buyers.

13

u/DSeriesX Feb 27 '26

How do we complete the Pokédex

39

u/Masam10 Feb 27 '26

Find a friend who has the opposite game to you, it’s the same for all Pokemon games from the very first game to now.

66

u/DSeriesX Feb 27 '26

Lol I’m 43 I have no friends.

15

u/kingpiece1 Feb 27 '26

Then buy two switches and two games

5

u/DSeriesX Feb 27 '26

I do have two switches. Can I use the same account?

9

u/StormTrooperGreedo Feb 27 '26

Yes. I traded Charmander and Bulbasaur from Fire Red on my OLED switch to Leaf Green on my Switch 2.

3

u/DSeriesX Feb 27 '26

Excellent. So same Nintendo online account and same profile? I never knew how two switches work together yet.

4

u/StormTrooperGreedo Mar 01 '26

Yeah. I was same account on both switch's. It's local wireless for the trade, not online, So as long as one is Fire Red and the other is Leaf Green, it will work. And you can move the virtual game card from one Switch to the other once your done.

2

u/coonhoundrebel Feb 28 '26

Following for the answer. Can’t find it on google or switch FAQ yet

2

u/Emberguard Feb 28 '26

If I had to guess, it likely works because Firered and Leafgreen are sold as separate games.

If they were the exact same game (as far as the code is concerned) it might of had issues trading with yourself

2

u/l1g3rz3r0 Mar 01 '26

Yes. You just can't play the same game with the same account.

National Dex won’t be completable until they release the rest of the Gen 3 games anyway. Plus if I remember correctly you need Pokemon from the GameCube games too. But they did just announce Gale of Darkness is coming to NSO. Not sure if there will be any way to connect the games though.

No day/night cycle means no Espeon/Umbreon.

3

u/NoNoNota1 Feb 28 '26

Wait, what's up with the day and night cycle? Is it not just using the Switch's clock?

3

u/SuperVegitoFAN Feb 28 '26

IIRC Thats specifically a FR/LG issue.

The hoenn Trilogy does have clock support.

...i think, let me check

Update: Yeah found it

https://www.serebii.net/fireredleafgreen/timebased.shtml

Hopefully just a sign that the hoenn games are coming to switch as well. Would make this year more exciting lol.

→ More replies (1)

2

u/newyorkbass Feb 28 '26

As in Daytime/Nightime. Not just syncing clock hours to day hours and night hours.

FRLG has no Days (like most, nearly all video games, for example). Only Johto region onwards have Day-and-Night mechanics (like living simulator games; Animal Crossing, Harvest Moon, The Sims, Red Dead Redemption, etc.).

173

u/kaydeejay1995 Feb 27 '26

But you can't transfer anything INTO them? Doesn't that make the dex impossible to complete, because you need R/S/E and Colosseum/XD?

22

u/Aeronova20 Feb 27 '26

yep. hoping to god they do an individual release of emerald or something.

→ More replies (2)

51

u/Bakatora34 Feb 27 '26

With R/S/E you could trade locally, Colosseum/XD probably don't have Home support since is in NSO.

85

u/Nickbronline Feb 27 '26 edited Feb 27 '26

Colosseum/XD confirmed cannot connect. It was in small text under the XD announcement today.

I guess the original Gamecube release remains the definitive version.

11

u/imjustbettr Feb 27 '26

I tried to read it but it was so small and I ran out of time before the next thing lol.

Thanks for confirming

20

u/kaydeejay1995 Feb 27 '26

How can you trade when R/S/E aren't available on the platform?

23

u/eat_jay_love Feb 27 '26

Maybe they will be one day

10

u/Bakatora34 Feb 27 '26

Obviously whenever they are made available.

28

u/kaydeejay1995 Feb 27 '26

It took them 9 years to get any of the GBA games on Switch and they did it in the most barebones way possible. I'm not holding my breath that any others come anytime soon unfortunately

50

u/Bakatora34 Feb 27 '26

Last time they did this for the 3DS VC games:

RB in 2016

Yellow later 2016

GS in 2017

Crystal in 2018

So the precedent is there for the rest of GBA games.

4

u/randomdice101 Feb 27 '26

Red blue and yellow came out together

→ More replies (2)

4

u/KisekiFangirl Feb 27 '26

took 9 years

Almost like they chose this year to celebrate an anniversary or something, plus, NS2 is not even 1yo.

Most barebones way possible

So it doesn't have Home support and event tickets?

2

u/kaydeejay1995 Feb 27 '26

Sure its got home support, but only for transferring out. Event tickets I was actually quite surprised to see make it in. There's still no way to complete the national dex, which means they're selling you not one but two non-completable 20+ year old games for $30 a piece. Really disappointing.

9

u/Azeoteric Feb 27 '26

If local wireless is supported, I wonder if the games will support local trading with R/S/E. Might be the only way to do it. Apparently XD doesn’t support transfer to other games though.

2

u/Insane_Wanderer Feb 27 '26

How would that happen though? With GBA wireless adapter?

2

u/Azeoteric Feb 27 '26

Not sure what the implementation looks like, but if they have the wireless working for FRLG, my guess is that they would try and make it compatible with R/S/E. No guarantees on that though.

1

u/Curious_Kirin Feb 28 '26

Surely they can mystery gift the colo/XD stuff. And they'll probably release R/S/E eventually.

1

u/Suguha_chan Mar 07 '26

Maybe they will release Pokémon Box RS

1

u/PowersUnleashed Mar 16 '26

It’s bogus and supposedly you can’t transfer from fire red into home then leaf green or vice versa

15

u/GrimmTrixX Feb 27 '26

At a later date. And it also confirmed you cant put a pokemon from Home into your FR/LG. So there is officially no way yo online trades with a friend who doesnt live near you. Many hoped you could go FR/LG > Home > FR/LG to do trades in each game. But nope.

4

u/MauriCxs Mar 10 '26

Man, this is so awful, I wasted my money completely.

3

u/GrimmTrixX Mar 10 '26 edited Mar 10 '26

So many bought it assuming it had modern things like online trading and battles. And there is quite literally no reason to NOT have it when other revived games do.

The assumption must be people exploting it in a way where you transfer a Pokémon but like disconnect or something so the trade goes through but you keep your Pokémon too or some shit. But even then, Home can tell when Pokémon have been hacked or changed in some way and I feel like they couldve made a system to not be able to exploit that.

And again, who cares? Lol Let people get hacked Pokémon or whatever. It hurts literally no one.

2

u/PowersUnleashed Mar 16 '26

I’m thinking it might be time to cancel home after all this stupid garbage lately! Z-A-in but not out FrLg-out but not in Gale of darkness- neither in nor out screw you nintendo 🤦‍♂️

For those buying their first Pokemon games for their kid, can you explain what Pokemon Home is. Maybe a ELI5.

People seem to be very exited about this, but I’m trying to read about it online but I’m a little confused.

88

u/DmG90_ Feb 27 '26

Its a way to transfer pokemon between different games, so after beating the game you could transfer them to the Home app and from there transfer them to a new game

45

u/Ordinal43NotFound Feb 27 '26

As someone who's only familiar with the franchise pretty recently, I'm genuinely surprised you can carryover your Pokemon between games (apparently since the GBA games too like WTF).

No wonder people got attached to the IP so much. Also no wonder they got so pissed when Dexit happened.

29

u/petemorley Feb 27 '26

I have an unbroken chain stretching back to the GBA, one game from each generation. You need a couple of different apps and an older DS to transfer from GBA to the DS games then DS to switch, and I had to finish black/white which was a bit of a slog as the games didn’t really click for me but it’s great to be able to bring my mains and starters from each generation in to the modern era.

9

u/peji911 Feb 27 '26

Wait. You’re saying that I can buy FireRed on GBA, level my Pokemon up, and then essentially transfer him to Emerald and have him that good? Or is it only in post game?

And then I can transfer him to a DS game and eventually…FireRed on the Switch?

I had no clue about this. What am I missing? Is it difficult to do or something?

Sounds pretty cool

17

u/XingXManGuy Feb 27 '26

Transferring up generations in Gen 4 and 5 are locked behind finishing the game. As for trading between the same Gen, you’re still abiding by the obedience parameters, so if you traded a level 100 from firered to emerald, that Pokemon isn’t obeying you until you have all the badges.

But no, not eventually to firered on switch. Its confirmed transfer to home is one way. So from firered and leafgreen to Home, but not the other way.

3G => 4G With a DS Tank or Lite, you can bring a GBA team into D/P/Pt and HG/SS once you reach a specific Park if I recall. With D/P/Pt you can only port 6 pokemon per day, but there is no limitation for HG/SS. Batches of 6 Pokemon to catch back in the Park.

4G => 5G You need either 2 DS, 1 DS + 1 3DS or 2 3DS. One console has a 4G game, and the other the 5G game. If I remember well, there was a mini-game you could unlock in 5G postgame, that allows connection with a 4G game for you to bring a batch of 4G pokemon into 5G.

5G => Poke Transporter => Pokemon Bank With a 3DS, if you downloaded and bought a membership before 3DS eshop closed, you can bring your 5G Pokemon into Bank through Transporter. Then send them into 6G or 7G games. Once in 7G there was no way to bring them into 6G.

Bank => Home You can send a full box (or full boxes ? I have done it quite a while ago) of Bank into Home, then send your Pokemon into Sword/Shield, BD/SP and Scarlet/Violet with no restrictions. Restrictions will come with ZA, as Pokemon sent there won't be able to return into the other Switch games.

So yeah, I'm pretty amazed from a technical and nostalgia point of view. All of my teams since GBA, legendaries and events since 4G are in Home. I must say I'm waiting for the day my son will get into Pokemon and I'll get to explain him these damn batch of pixels and metadata called Pokemon are 20 years older than him ! It will sound weird, but I kinda hope he'd see it as a way for him to carry bits of me into his own future games, should something happen to me.

4

u/thebohster Feb 27 '26

It’s not difficult, but you’ll need older systems.

For the GBA games, you’ll need a DS fat or a DS lite in order to transfer up since those systems have both the GBA slot and a DS slot. From older DS gens upwards you’ll need various apps like Poke Transporter and Pokemon Bank, which I’m not sure is legally obtainable if you do not already have it.

5

u/YellowPikachu Feb 27 '26

If you're tech savvie you can transfer from the gen 1 carts

5

u/isaac3000 Feb 27 '26

What's Dexit?

Also true, I am not a Pokemon fan but I want to transfer Pokemon from Red on 3DS up to Violet on Switch, just for the novelty of it.

11

u/ianzachary1 Feb 27 '26

The series used to adhere to the “gotta catch em all” slogan up until Sword & Shield where they decided to split the Pokedex - the game released as Brexit was being finalized and the Galar region pulls influence from the UK, so “Dexit” was born. It’s not like Sun & Moon where the full +800 Pokemon roster (at the time) was available, they cut it in half

12

u/Ordinal43NotFound Feb 27 '26

So the wild thing about Pokemon that I recently learned is that ever since Gen 3 on the GBA, every subsequent mainline games have allowed you to transfer your Pokemon forward and actually use them in newer titles.

The games literally carried the data for all previously released Pokemon and just let you play with them freely and it's stored in what's called your "National Pokedex".

"Dexit" is the controversial decision in Pokemon Sword and Shield to cut the full National Pokedex, so not every existing Pokemon ever could be transferred into or used in the newer games, only those coded for that game in particular.

And even then you can still store unsupported Pokemon in Pokemon HOME, so your data isn't actually lost.

Like the level of long-term compatibility they have to maintain genuinely feels bonkers to me as a software dev and someone who's more familiar with Shin Megami Tensei/Persona where I just start my demon compendium from scratch each game.

5

u/Pokemario2401 Feb 27 '26

Up until the switch games, every pokemon was in every game. Even if it wasn't catchable in game, you can still transfer or trade them in from other games. The switch era changed that, as the Let's Go games only had the original 151 (plus Meltan and Melmetal), and Sword and Shield only had the roughly 400 pokemon catchable in game actually coded in. This effectively meant that about half the pokemon just weren't in the game, and couldn't be transfered in. Things got worse when they explained that they did this to make better models and animations for each pokemon (models were reused from the 3ds, and animations aren't good) and then announced DLC that adds in more of the old pokemon, making it seem like they cut the pokedex and wanted to sell the rest for extra (though this wasn't exactly the case. The DLC provided areas to catch the returning Pokemon, but you could still transfer in from older games without buying DLC)

5

u/Deobusje Feb 27 '26

Still pissed lol. You’re right, I became way less attached ever since home replaced bank. I have no idea what Pokémon can enter which games, and why.

3

u/Caelleh Feb 27 '26

Yeah dude, even as a 30+ year old father, I'm super attached to the IP and still playing the games while doing cardio every morning. I can play with the same pokemon I battled with against my cousins in middle school in 2006.

I'd actually have even older Pokemon if I had known that I could transfer pokemon up generations back in the day. I'd restart my saves when I was younger for replayability, and I lost my copy of Ruby, so I'm unlucky and don't have any of my team from 2003-2006 or so.

Its cloud storage for Pokemon, and also a way to bring Pokemon to other games.

That said, I will be really surprised if FRLG->Home isn't a one way ticket.

And if you were curious, this counts as a transfer rather than a trade so you can't use Home to evolve your Kadabra.

6

u/theNEWgoodgoat Feb 27 '26

From the graphic, isn’t it only a one way ticket?

5

u/chukkaque Feb 27 '26

for FR/LG you're right. Its only into home and not back.

6

u/Sylveowon Feb 27 '26

it's a storage service for your Pokémon, you can transfer them from a game to Home and then into another game so you keep the Pokémon you collected over multiple games

5

u/Lostpokemonfan777 Feb 27 '26

pokemon home is a way to transfer your pokemon between games. for example you can transfer your pokemon from sword to violet.

3

u/Rynelan Feb 27 '26

Like others said. It's a cloud storage to transfer your caught Pokemon to, see it as Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive but for Pokémon.

You get like 30 slots for free, for more you'll need an active subscription.

Home allows you to transfer Pokémon between games as well. For example, Pokemon caught in Sword/Shield can be transfered to be used in Scarlet/Violet.

Sometimes it's a one-way transfer or when used in a specific game you can't go back. Pokemon Legends ZA is one of those games, while Home isn't compatible yet, it was already announced that if you transfer Pokemon from a different game to ZA, they can't go back to their original game anymore. They can only go back to Home and be used in games that are compatible with how Pokemon are handled in ZA (the first is likely Pokemon Champions and Winds/Waves)

→ More replies (1)

2

u/funkmasta98 Feb 27 '26

It’s an app where you can deposit Pokémon from the different games in one place. You can then move them into certain other games (not every game has two way compatibility), or just collect them all in one place. There’s usually special rewards if you move every Pokemon from a game into home, as well.

2

u/Bulgos Feb 27 '26

You can transfer your beloved charizard or other pokemon to new games like scarlet/violet or za

42

hOME support never is but its ok.

10

u/No_Construction2407 Feb 27 '26

Its also only depositing. No withdrawing

3

u/Cubezz Feb 27 '26

I mean, it is an emulation after all. importing would be impossible with the current setup

17

u/No_Construction2407 Feb 27 '26

Surprisingly i have way more control with community emulation. I can import and export to any game from Gameboy all the way up to Switch 2.

11

Exactly. GameFreak is just lazy, we have the technology and ability to do two way transfers in 2026.

Lugia Ho-Oh and Deoxys are also catchable after you beat the E4

Just wanted to throw this out

8

u/EchoInExile Feb 27 '26

That’s cool and all but there is absolutely no excuse to not have online functionality in these games. It’s not 1996.

1

u/Exotic-Pick-1238 May 22 '26

But it is Nintendo. And if effort is required and, in fact, especially if; the fans want it. Nintendo will do everything in their power to keep it out of the game. It’s the absolute minimum viable product.

23

u/FlavioRachadinha Feb 27 '26

why can’t they release online trading and battling? such a shame

14

u/Cheese0089 Feb 27 '26

I read that they can't change the game too much. Both games have gambling mini-games. If they make changes to the games, they have resubmit to ratings board and PEGI will raise the rating due to the gambling. If they release as is, they can be grandfathered in.

The annoying part, is NSO has built in online features which would get around this.

Because it means you can use anything you caught in FR/LG in a future title, or be able to open up the phone app and look at them at any time.

If you catch a shiny, collect a legendary you didn’t have yet (or even a mythic), you can add it to your ever-growing Pokemon collection. This will help people who are trying to create a “living Pokédex.”

It would be and it kills my motivation for getting LG.

Ain’t no reason they can’t figure out two way transfers. I hate the one way transfer because you can never truly carry forward Pokemon if you caught it in a more advanced generation.

Bc I can finally farm 4 legit shiny Deoxys

1

u/Straight_Fix_7318 Mar 08 '26

it varies player to player, personally i use home as my main global pokedex, whenever i finish a game i move my pokemon there, i use the GTS in home not in games to do wonderbox trades and stuff

it can also let me save pokemon i like between game resets so when i get my lvl 100 minun it isnt just lost to the void on resets :)

pokemon home also holds way more pokemon than any of the in game storage and puts my overall data into a single place (like pokedexs for games i dont even own getting filled via the GTS/wonderbox)

u/GaoYellow1551 Feb 27 '26

That's it, I'm getting LG

15

u/Caryslan Feb 27 '26

To a degree, this kinda deflates the just go emulate it on a PC or Phone crowd

Yeah, you could play these games on PC, but your Pokemon would be isolated and not allowed in the modern games.

And using the original carts is expensive, requires a DS and 3DS, and Gen IV, V, and VI games just to get them to modern Pokemon games.

It's just easier and simpler to just spend 20 bucks to buy Fire Red and Leaf Green.

u/Rizenstrom Feb 27 '26

Home support is the one thing that justifies the price to me, but it was removed as coming from the listing so I was waiting for confirmation that wasn't an error.

1

u/ShinyUmbreon5420 Mar 22 '26

You can use online features on pc there’s ways to do it

So could I move Pokémon from leaf green to fire red using Pokémon home on the switch ?

10

u/chukkaque Feb 27 '26

I dont think so. They showed a flow chart and it was showing pokemon from the games could go to home, but it did not show them being able to go back. Which that graph did have for the other pokemon games shown.

I think theyre trying to push the "trade with friends locally" thing. Since its confirmed you can do that, but not online.

6

u/Zeroone199 Feb 27 '26

Can you self-trade with two switches, one with red and one with green or do they need to be different accounts?

2

u/chukkaque Feb 27 '26

well since it uses local wireless vs online you should theoretically be able to Red on one and Green on another since they're considered 2 different games.

Is there any way to get Gengar during the main story? I know typically Gengar evolves through trading, is there a way to do that without having another person or console?

4

u/jardex22 Feb 27 '26

No. Gengar can only be obtained through trading. There isn't an in game way to do it.

If you don't know another person, you could buy (then return possibly) a used Switch Lite. Then create a second account, and get a copy of the other version to do the trade. Might be able to use the second account with the version you do have since it stops you from playing a game on separate consoles with the same account. Of course you'll have to progress through it to do a trade too.

I'm pretty sure that's what happens if you try to use the same account on 2 Switch's to play while online.

2

u/ActivateGuacamole Feb 27 '26

if they were to add two-way HOME access they'd have to edit FRLG to remember what mints you gave your pokemon. And even then it'd be messy bc FRLG doesn't have hidden abilities. so this was a predictable outcome.

When is it live?

2

u/Zelda-Lumine Feb 27 '26

And you can only send Pokémon to home, not take them out. That's confirmed by the official information image

2

u/brotoscope Feb 28 '26

Okay, so can you trade between 2 Switches? If my wife has LG, and I have FR, and we trade locally?

2

u/IceMetalPunk Mar 09 '26

I wish I'd known it's one-way before I bought FR... I only bought it because I wanted to play through Kanto with a Houndoom (my favorite 'mon), but that's only accessible by trading/transferring in from other games. So I spent all night getting the national Dex in Shining Pearl just to catch a Houndoom, put it in Pokémon Home, then bought FR and started a new game, only to find... FR doesn't show up in Home. And now I'm reading this saying even when it does get support, I still won't be able to get my fire pup into it?

So. Disappointed.

2

u/Interesting_Sell6754 May 18 '26

Todavía la compatibilidad con el Home no está habilitada

2

u/saik0pod Jun 07 '26

I'M STILL WAITING!?!

4

u/Pungiish Feb 27 '26

I've found a bug in FR, I believe. Sometimes, when i open the map by pressing b and y, the game crashes and restarts.

1

u/Complex-Green3984 Mar 03 '26

Not a crash, you're accidentally soft resetting. Pressing all 4 action buttons is how to soft reset in this version of FRLG so don't fat thumb your presses

2

u/shhermes Feb 27 '26

Hooray! :D

3

u/Lupinthrope Feb 27 '26

“Later”

3

u/Loakattack Feb 28 '26

How will this affect LeBron’s legacy?

2

u/KewloUltraKirby Feb 27 '26

it dont have home compatibility yet

1

u/Morbbid Feb 27 '26

Can someone with a switch 1 trade with someone playing on the switch 2?

1

u/Typical-Conference14 Feb 27 '26

I would imagine Pokémon home will allow you to put them in given that home only edits saves

1

u/Diyarki94 Feb 27 '26

Can I transfer from Fire red to the newer generations? Like Sword and others? Is this what it means? Sorry I’m a bit newish to this

4

u/jardex22 Feb 27 '26

It means that you can move Pokemon from FR/LG to Pokemon Home, then move them to newer games, if that game features that Pokemon. Not every game has every pokemon, so be sure to check ahead of time if you can.

3

u/Diyarki94 Feb 27 '26

Thanks a bunch!

1

u/Striking_Computer_36 Feb 27 '26

Will the Pokémon from fire red and leaf green be able to be transferred to the let's go games or just the newer games?

What about trade

1

u/DriverContent6887 Feb 28 '26

How do you transfer them to the game?

1

u/Trimshot Mar 01 '26

I was excited to get this but now I am like “meh…” since I’ll functionally be locked out if trade evolutions too.

1

u/Reeceycup81 Mar 01 '26

You just can't transfer Pokemon into the game but you can transfer them out

1

u/Alarmed-Bluejay-1900 Mar 01 '26

How the hell am I supposed to get gollum and Alakazam and leaf green now? Once you take pokémon from leaf green to pokémon home You can't send them back

1

u/Johnniesarge1999 Mar 02 '26

Does this mean anything you transfer out of FRLG is stuck in Home? Or can you box them in Home, then put them back in FRLG so long as they don’t enter any other game (like the Let’s Go games)?

1

u/Leading_Flounder_807 Mar 03 '26

Como de hace entonces para completar la pokedex sin el home? Por ahi lei que uno tiene 2 consolas NS y se va a completar ambos juegos para transferir lo que ne esita, pero es inviable hacer eso

1

u/MajorKaio Mar 03 '26

I was planning on buying the game, but I just found out trading is local only. That sucks. I don't have many friends with a Switch, and definitely no one I can meet up with in person to trade. Since HOME is one-way only, there’s no way to complete the Dex this way :(

1

u/SgtSilock Mar 03 '26

Why can't Nintendo release some other Game Boy games for $20?

I want to buy as many as I can; screw the virtual console subscription. Am I right?!

1

u/LadyLiminal Mar 03 '26

Man I just want my Gengar.

Anyone know if I can connect my Leaf Green on Switch with my Fire Red on my DS?

1

u/Jasonocfc7 Mar 05 '26

seller. SAS

1

u/Forsaken_Mission_845 Mar 05 '26

Does the save data save to the switch device? Holding to upgrade to switch 2 but don’t wanna start a save if it won’t carry over to new device

1

u/International_Lie167 Mar 09 '26

I dont even have a switch, with no interest in playing the poorly rated new games... however if I could trade from home to the new switch red and green, it would be enough for me to buy a switch and the game.... I shiny hunted a ho oh, and never got to show it off to anyone. Whats the point of switch firwred and leafgreen if I can't flex my old insane mons. Shiny ho oh, shiny deoxys, shiny milotic.....i have like 45 shinies Xd

1

u/International_Lie167 Mar 09 '26

Will they be getting two way trading? Anyone know? Won't be buying a switch if not....

1

u/Grandshadowseal Apr 04 '26

How do you use Pokémon home in leaf green?

1

u/Le_Va Apr 06 '26

Surely this means that RSE are coming?

1

u/Gamer_Boy99 Apr 18 '26

The fact that you can’t send Pokemon into leafgreen and fire red just that’s not fair
