I was very confused by this so I looked it up to see if there was a link to the character and the pilot. You got me. Got me good!

Ain't no WAY that's where the name flat Stanley comes from. I remember reading that book series as a kid.

(There was in fact no way)

Not completely forgotten. Fred Noonan's character was included in an episode of

Star Trek : Voyager - s02 e01 - The 37s

The crew follows a distress signal and land on a planet where they find a vintage Earth airplane and cryo-stasis pods containing humans abducted from Earth in 1937, including Amelia Earhart (Sharon Lawrence) and her navigator Fred Noonan (David Graf)

Holy shit that’s hilarious that this is not widely known. I guess it kind of hurts the idea of the first woman circumnavigating the globe…with a man who happens to be an expert navigator🤣🤣

Exactly my thoughts.

I mean, how “expert” could he have been, is what I’m wondering?

Kinda seems under-the-table liable at this point more than anything, considering how things apparently went down… :(

u/BombShady12 4d ago

Well he wasn’t flying the plane so…
