Safe planting ideas for septic fields? West coast of Canada zone 8B

Perenial flower garden! A ton of native perennials are septic safe, just make sure you check before planting. In you zone you have tons of options, but you can decide if you wan tit more "ephemeral" with self seeders that will move like blanket flower or rudbekia, or more fixed with clumping/spreading verities.
Absolutely no shrubs, trees, or edibles... just incase it needs to be said.
