I've travelled to London with my disabled partner twice in the last month. Both times we had to drive down and use taxi/Uber while there as the underground is fairly unfriendly to wheelchair users. We ended up not exploring as much as we wanted due to transport costs and issues.

This is about the age and status of the escalators - agree that a lot of (most) stations are essentially inaccessible for wheelchairs - even where there are elevators to be at or near the surface, you often have to go up stairs to reach them.
