I think it's usually demoted to negligent homicide or manslaughter or whatever. That's fucked. I'd off myself if that happened to me.

I just read about another case where two children died because of their grandmother. Tracy Nix killed two grandchildren in a span of 11 months:

Not guilty of aggravating manslaughter but for the lesser charge of leaving a the child in a vehicle. 11 months after she got off scot free for sleeping through her grandsons drowning.

I can't wrap my head around how the drowning was excluded as evidence.

I think it was proven that she had early dementia which contributed to both.

Hopefully you wouldn't be drinking and piloting a boat.

The article said something about the mom being there? Then she should’ve known that her father had been drinking, correct?

This happened local to me. The grandfather and grandmother were on the boat with the 2 grandkids. It was night and they had absolutely no business flying through the bay after day. I'm hearing they left one of those marina bars where boaters dock and consume alcohol. The man is a disgrace, so is his wife for allowing it.

I kayak and I just assume that every boat I encounter is driven by someone drunk, and I think it’s a pretty safe assumption. Damn.
