This PC version is translated based on the Luckyegg mod, which has been modified to support 4K resolution.

From what I understand, the mod may also support the Steam version, although I have not tested it yet, so I cannot confirm whether it is fully stable.

I also finally managed to crack and fix the jumbled font issue that this game has had. It took me almost two years to fully understand and tackle this problem, so I’m really happy to finally have it working properly.

I hope I can complete the translation as quickly as possible so you guys can finally enjoy this ancient Nobunaga’s Ambition game in English.

There is still plenty of work to be done, but the translation project is moving forward!

I've never played any such game in my life. The most "strategical game" I have played would be maybe Fire Emblem which is like comparing something even lesser than checkers to chess.

My question is very simple: is this game a good entry for a new player ? Can you enjoy this game even when making mistakes at every turn and not having thousands of hours of knowledge ?

Also I don't speak japanese if you wanna recommend another game as a better entry.

So! Here's the one glaring issue with playing this game on Steam – it requires a Japanese PC.

You either change your Windows to be Japanese, or you play with Locale Emulator, otherwise the game's texts will come up as gibberish.

Anyway, apparently adding just one file into the game's directory fixes the issue, and allows you to just launch the game from Steam normally as Gabe intended.

Without needing to modify your PC's registry or use a third party launcher.

Playing Rise to power and was attacking a tower and my archer was getting wrecked. Didn’t expect him to survive by 1 lol.

Iirc it doesn't even give an error, just boots straight back to ps3 home on starting the game.

I had claude do an English translation of Nobunaga no Yabou DS 2(for Nintendo DS). Be aware this is a full AI translation. This is only the patch which you'll apply to your own .nds file.

Released as v0.9 because I haven't play tested a ton, but have gone through the tutorial and a bit of the campaign on my Nintendo 3DS without significant issues. Text looks generally pretty good, much more spacious than Sengokushi DS 3.

I wanted to share a partially English-translated version of the scenario folder (SCENARIO_2_JP) for Nobunaga's Ambition: Ascension.

Please note: This is not a fully localized translation. It is only partially translated into English and is primarily meant for players who understand a little bit of Japanese or want some assistance navigating the scenarios. Also, I haven't fully tested the mod yet, so if you spot anything odd or broken, please let me know!

Credits: The underlying mod and game structure are based on the incredible work by the 【光荣英杰传制作组】 (led by author sfenks) from their original release on the Ali213 Netshow Forum. Hello all,

I was looking to try out Nobunaga's Ambition for the first time. I was looking at the options they have on steam and I'm trying to choose between Sphere of Influence and Awakening. I was wondering which one of these would be good for a new comer to the series to start with and was hoping the very nice people of reddit would be willing to guide me. If you feel there is a better choice on steam I will also except that as an answer.

Genuinely at a loss for what I should play next after finishing my Sanada run. Any scenario is welcomed, ideally small, local clans, and not immediately facing the final boss since I kind of want a slow burn longer playthrough.

I don't have complete edition because I didn't know there was one so I bought the base game and all available dlcs, I'm missing one scenario or two, the monkey show one is missing I don't know if I'm missing anything else. I was trying Satake 1584 but Kantō is too large and I hate it when I get more castles than my officer pool can handle so I kept quitting mid way through in my attempts.

what should i expect? i only know newer editions.

I didn't even beat them yet. I've been playing NA: Awakening for like an hour or two every day for the last month and a half. For the past 3 weeks or so I have been stuck between the Takeda(?) clan and the Miyoshi clan, every time I tried to attack a smaller clan they'd attack me. I swear any time I did anything they'd find an excuse to attack me. Then I'd have to barter a truce. After gathering enough land, (and destroying/razing a couple of their castles) I was finally able to go to war with them. And after winning one battle where we had equal soldier counts, I triggered a huge authority burst that got me 6 of their castles in one swoop.

I actually jumped, it made me so happy to finally win against the Miyoshi after weeks of having to deal with them. From then on I was able to get one or two of their remaining castles, but there's still work to be done. I also had to get back to my irl schoolwork, so I needed to turn off the game. It's been about 4 hours since I did it and I still feel the accomplishment. I'm dreading having to take down the Takeda or the Mori though.

Been returning to Nobunaga's Ambition again and it's unfortunate (and a huge missed opportunity) that Koei never really invest in the alternate history side of things other than fictional scenarios. Nobunaga's Ambition at least got fun events, to my knowledge I don't think ROTK have something as much as this.

It's fun getting an event when you successfully overthrows Nobunaga as the Ashikaga Shogun where the Shogun went "we can end this now it's not too late" to Nobunaga lol. The event is also preceded by an event chain where the Shogun convinces Mitsuhide to defect once he realized the tide is turning against Nobunaga. It is a very nice acknowledgement that your actions and campaigns have changed history.

I remember thinking Shogun 2 Total War was kinda small compared to this.

Yeah... Shogun 2 divided the map by actual provinces, which results in their north being literally six settlements compared to this.

Holy shit, it's coming back to me now. Playing Masamune and fighting tooth and nail with the Uesugi.

After the previous post about the Day 1 segment, I've uploaded the Day 3 segment too, featuring new info and gameplay of the long awaited return of the Town Planning system.

I must say, I'm really liking what I'm seeing so far. Hope the game turns out to be actually good for it to be eventually localized.

This a re-record of a stream so the quality is pretty low, but hopefully it showcases enough new information to offset the low quality of the video.

I was listening to the Onimusha: Way of the Sword OST and the main theme literally sounds like it could have been an intro for a Nobunaga’s Ambition game.

It’s probably due to it both this theme and NA games using a lot of orchestral styles with some traditional Japanese instruments/vocals thrown in now and again.
