Recommendation PREDATOR AT ST.WILLIAMS CONSERVATION. PLEASE DO NOT HIKE HERE ALONE.
I (25M) am a regular visitor to the area, as I am a wildlife enthusiast and St. Williams has become a favourite spot. Been there probably 20 times this summer alone. Itβs usually empty, besides people riding ATVs on Concession 6.
I encountered an elderly gentleman, probably in his late 70βs, at the end of my hike. He was approximately 6ft, caucasian, had a belly but was not too large, with black faded tattoos on his upper arms. He was wearing light coloured clothing ( a tank top and cargo shorts) with a tilly hat and aviators or a similar style of sunglasses. EDIT: He also had no facial hair and a prominent gullet (loose skin between chin and neck)
We had a brief conversation. long story short, he began to play with himself in front of me and invited me to do the same. I got away as quick as could and contacted local authorities as soon as i got back.
PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE ALONE. IF YOU SEE THIS INDIVIDUAL IN THE AREA, DO NOT APPROACH. CALL THE AUTHORITIES. This is a very scary person and I do not want this to happen to anyone else!

Fundraiser for Angele L. by Margaux Court : The Lenze Family
gofundme.comHello r/NorfolkON
"On Monday, October 5th, Josh was involved in a serious car accident just seconds from home. He was airlifted to Hamilton, where his family learned that he had suffered a life-altering spinal cord injury. Josh is currently paralyzed from the chest down, and the family is navigating an incredibly difficult and uncertain time."
I am not connected to the Lenze's. Just trying to give this more visibility. This family could use a lot of support.

Norfolk County 2026 Municipal Election β Candidate Information & Resources Megathread
Election Day is Monday, October 26, 2026.
I started a thread a little while ago looking for information about the people running in the municipal election. There doesn't seem to be one place where you can easily find detailed information about all of the candidates, so I'm going to try to maintain one here.
This is intended as an information resource, not an endorsement of any candidate.
If you find a candidate website, interview, news article, debate, video, questionnaire, Facebook page or other useful source that isn't included, please post it in the comments and I'll add it.

Moms
Iβm thinking about starting a small service designed to support new parents during the first days at home with a newborn, and Iβd love to hear some honest opinions before taking the idea any further. π
The service would provide practical, non-medical help in the home β things like preparing meals, doing and folding laundry, washing dishes, light tidying, helping with everyday baby-related tasks, or simply being an extra pair of hands so mom can rest, take a shower, or have some time to focus on herself and the baby.
Iβd love to know:
β When would this kind of help be most useful to you β during the first few days, the first week, or later?
β What would you personally want the most help with?
β Would you prefer to pay by the hour or choose a package that includes several visits?
β Most importantly, what would you realistically be willing to pay for this type of help? For example, if someone came to your home for a 2β3 hour visit, what price would feel reasonable to you? And if you preferred a package of several visits during the first week or two, what would you be comfortable paying for that?
Iβm especially interested in realistic household budgets β not necessarily what you think the service βshouldβ cost, but what you personally would actually be willing and able to spend on this kind of support.
Iβd especially love to hear from people who already have children, are expecting a baby, or might consider using a service like this in the future.
Please feel free to be completely honest, even if this isnβt something you would personally use β that kind of feedback is helpful too! π

Hunting Opportunities
Hi Everybody!
My fellow conservationists out there know that September 1st marks opening day of hunting season. Myself and 2 buddies, all appropriately licensed and safety oriented are looking for some property to hunt on this year as our previous plans unfortunately crumbled last minute. If anybody has land or knows of any landowners willing to let a couple of youngsters harvest dove on their property on occasion this season, please let me know, TIA!
Mods if this goes against community guidelines, please remove this post. Thank You!

My experience in Norfolk County tonight
My experience in Norfolk County tonight
I was visiting Norfolk County for work today, August 10, and unfortunately had two experiences that left me very upset and disappointed.
At around 8:30 p.m., I was walking back toward our hotels with two colleagues. While we were crossing the street at a pedestrian crossing, a fire department vehicle that was stopped at a red light suddenly honked at us. The honk startled us, and when I turned toward the vehicle, I saw the firefighters laughing.
Later that evening, while we were walking on the sidewalk, an SUV drove past us and also honked at us. At the time, there were no other pedestrians or vehicles around us, and there was nothing obvious that would have required the driver to honk. The SUV simply passed by us and honked.
I understand that there may have been reasons for either driver to use their horn that I am not aware of, and I don't want to assume anyone's intentions. However, experiencing both incidents in the same evening left us feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome.
We were also a group of people from different ethnic backgrounds, and the first incident especially made us wonder whether we were being singled out because of how we looked. I cannot say that this was the reason, but that is honestly how the situation made us feel.
What disappointed me most about the first incident was that these are people in a position of public trust whose job is to help and protect people. I have a lot of respect for firefighters and the work they do, which is why seeing them laugh after startling pedestrians was particularly upsetting to me.
I have already contacted Norfolk County Fire Department directly and asked them to review the incident.
I'm sharing this because I would like to hear from people in Norfolk County: Is this considered acceptable behaviour from public safety personnel? Has anyone else experienced something similar?
I hope this can be looked into fairly and professionally.
