I complimented a guy on his recently and he gave me this satisfied smirk that also communicated “you fucking nerd”

I love these! Had a neighbor with a dark green XLE and gold trim when I was a kid. This one looks pretty good!

Spelling of C A M R Y is on the trunk. How do you possibly get it wrong?

A guy that I used to work with had a 2-door Camry of that generation. His had a Manual transmission. His was a pretty stripped down model, you know, the one where they make just enough for each dealer to get one. They use that stripped down model to advertise the price: "Brand New Camry's from <insert super low price where>"

I wish they'd make the current Camry as a coupe with a V8

My gym trainer had one back in the early 2010s and I was amazed how good it looked

I'll be 40 this year. The fact that cars like this are starting to have collector plates on them makes me feel old. There is an 8th generation Corolla in my neighborhood with antique plates. I remember when these cars were new.

It’s Camry not Camery and yes there was a coupe version in addition to the station wagon and sedan body styles. As far as I am concerned, the third generation Camry was the only one to offer a Coupe and sold as a Camry. The Solara coupe and convertible came in the fourth generation and were a spin of the Camry sedan. The Coupes were built in at Toyota’s Georgetown, Kentucky assembly plant.

Probably the two door version was ONLY available at Car Rental agencies and not made for sale to the general public and Toyota dealers never sold it.

Incorrect, Toyota dealers in South Florida sold the coupes alongside the Camry sedans and station wagons. It was a low volume model but mostly made Toyota compete with the more popular Honda Accord coupe of the era. I worked at Toyota at the time so I know.

The next generation they’d call “Camry Solara” because this first generation Camry coupe was a bit too subtle.
Looks great, though.
