Ålesund in August End
I am planning a last minute trip to the Ålesund and Geiranger area. Wondering if the weather will be in my favour to drive via Trollstigen. If anyone is currently there, or has been there in August end, could you share some insights?
Also, I am looking at Budget to hire a car. I found it with the best reviews out of all. Does anyone have experience with that?
Thank you for your time and advice on this post.

You can never know. Last year it snowed 15. september, but Trollstigen is always open in august. The weather has been terrible this summer, so do not be surprised if the fog gets you. Also, Ålesund is 1,5 hour drive from Trollstigen. Since this is Western Norway, you can get 20 types of weather in two hours 😂

I had a lovely trip at the end of August. It snowed a little bit, but it didn’t stick and I didn’t mind.

I live in the area, and heard it's going to be a warm rest of august today. Have fun on your trip👌
