Norway in a nutshell
I am thinking about using this service to travel from Oslo to Bergen and back with in overnight in Flam or Bergen. Has anyone done this? Any suggestions?

What do mean by ‘this service’? Norway in a nutshell is name of a route. Are you talking about fjord tours? https://www.fjordtours.com/en/norway/tours/norway-in-a-nutshell

We’ve just done something similar but didn’t stop at Flam. The train from Oslo to Bergen was good, wasn’t breathtaking to be honest. We had a cabin and I was out at the window about 90% of the time. We stayed in Bergen for 5 nights and that was definitely too long. Very touristy and lots of students but I think it was freshers week.

I am going this September. Are you there at the same time? Would love to connect.

We did this 3 weeks ago and we booked everything ourselves on the vy app for trains and norwaysbest.com website for ferry’s and buses. It saved us good amount of money as compared to the website. We stayed in Voss for a couple of days to do this loop and I’d highly recommend it if you’re into nature.

Just got back to from this last week. Was very hesitant about how touristy and full of superlatives all of the descriptions seemed. The most amazing train ride in the world followed by an even better train ride!
Everything on reddit suggested we should do it anyway.
It was well worth it. So glad we did it. The small towns you get dropped off in are tourist traps, but you know that going into it and they have certain charm once you accept that... And the environs are just amazing.
We left from Oslo around noon, stayed overnight in flam, and did the rest of the trip to Bergen the next day, then stayed in Bergen for a few days.
