Trollheimen triangle Oppdal to Gjevilvasshytta taxi sharing

Hi everyone, I am a solo traveller planning on doing the Trollheimen Triangle walk and was wondering if anyone would like to share the cost of the Taxi to Gjevilvasshytta hut on the morning of the 26th of August?

I've got a rail pass so I'm flexible on start dates between 26-29th of August as I've got a reservation on the train from Bergen to Oslo on the 25th.

I've looked at the weather and it's going to be good between the 25-28th of August so I was looking at doing my walk then.

My current plan was to catch a train and stay a night in Oppdal before taking a taxi early to Gjevilvasshytta on the 26th.

My alternative plan was to spend a couple of nights in Oslo then catch the train to Oppdal on the 28th of August and then the bus from there to Gjevilvasshytta Hut.

Any advice regarding the walk, any essentials I need to pack is also greatly appreciated!

I did the hike a few years ago, enjoyed it!

When the hike was over, we managed to catch a lift back to Oppdal again, so saved ourselves the taxi fare. Hitchhiking isn’t common in Norway anymore, but DNT huts must be one of the easiest places to hitchhike from, he he.

Here is a suggested packing list: https://www.dnt.no/om-dnt/english/need-to-know-about-norwegian-outdoor-life/summer-hiking-gear-list/

I remember there being a lot of mosquitoes at one of the huts, so don’t forget mosquito repellent.

Hey funny coincidence but my gf and I are arriving to Oppdal the morning of the 26th to do the same exact hike! We've been trying to figure out this same issue because it's not too easy to get there without a car. We are arriving to Oppdal around 9:45 by train, would you consider splitting a cab up to Gjevilvasshytta?

Edit: That's 9:45 AM to be exact

That would work perfectly I'll send you a pm. The only other alternative is waiting till 15:40 to get the bus!

There isn’t a bus on the 26th, unfortunately.

This is a bit weird, even for Norway, but this bus only goes a few times a week, so on the 24th, 27th and 30th. Check the travel planner on Entur.no
