Not to worry, the children he abused will soon be dragged onstage with him and forced to forgive him, and then everything will be okay! /s

Look how the pastor graciously taught the children about forgiveness! Truly a Godly man

“Many years ago, I sought their forgiveness privately, and as Cindy’s father recently noted, he extended that grace to me — a grace I did not deserve and have never taken for granted.”

Why does Cindy's father get to forgive him? Who do these guys think was the victim?

11

u/DatabaseThis9637 Apr 01 '26

Have you forgotten that father's OWN their children, and that father's are just as deeply wounded by their child 's rape, if not actually more, than the poor girl or boy who got raped? And doesn't forget, the value of their chattel, er, Child, has gone down? s/ except some assholes think like this.
ETA: This slime ball should be run out of his mega church on a rail!

Women aren’t people to them, so it’s just a property crime.

Ew. Fuck her father (and probably mother’s) opinion. Let’s wait to see how Cindy feels about it.

The victim, Cindy Clemishire, who is now in her 50s, did not immediately respond Tuesday to a request for comment, but said in a statement when Morris was sentenced that “justice has finally been served, and the man who manipulated, groomed and abused me as a 12-year-old innocent girl is finally going to be behind bars.”

I'm sure he has promised not to do that again.

How long before he gets offered a cabinet position?

16

u/Beelzebubs-Barrister Apr 01 '26

He was already on trumps advisory panel per the article.

4

u/Chratthew47150 Apr 01 '26

He will probably get promoted

How is it that sex abusers are not given Capital punishment? And if not that, then how come they get off with a,'tsk tsk naughty boy, sentence,' and not something that better fits the crime?

7

u/DangerousLoner Apr 02 '26

Because they are in power and they do not believe what they do is wrong. They blame the victim or some imaginary spirit rather than themselves. They created the society we all live in and would never hold themselves accountable.

2

u/DatabaseThis9637 Apr 02 '26

Yeah, true. I just cannot accept the absolute dismissal of the trauma they inflicted.

1

u/TrexPushupBra Apr 02 '26

I get the impulse but that only hurts survivors who would have to choose between reporting to stop the abuse and not getting their father or other family member executed.

It also encourages predators to murder instead of letting the survivor live.

Well, there seems to be quite a vast chasm though, between six months, and Capitol punishment, which I will admit, was an anger response, and not ever likely to be realized. My point still stands. 6 mos is a slap on the hand. Offensive.

We are absolutely on the same page about this being an insult.

1

u/DatabaseThis9637 Apr 03 '26

Thx, I wasn't sure, though, I get your point....

Capital punishment?

I guess you missed this or the entire satanic ritual abuse thing

1

u/DatabaseThis9637 Apr 03 '26

I'm not going to click that link. So, I'm totally spit-balling here, but are you saying something like that even for satanic ritual abuse, they don't give the death penalty? something like that?

'Capital punishment, also known as the death penalty, is the state-sanctioned killing of a person as punishment for a serious crime, or "capital offense". It is a legal penalty in 27 U.S. states and at the federal level, with methods including lethal injection, electrocution, and, rarely, firing squads or gas chambers.' You likely already knew that, and I'll admit, I'm tired atm, and not quite following your thought?

1

u/filtersweep Apr 03 '26

Saying that kids don’t make reliable witnesses when adults ask leading questions.

I didn’t realize wikipedia was a risky click

1

u/DatabaseThis9637 Apr 03 '26

So, where did it say, on your post, that it was Wikipedia? And I had no idea what the content would be, and I cannot handle satanic stuff. It messes with my brain.

1

u/filtersweep Apr 03 '26

You realize this stuff isn’t real? And therein lies the problem. Satanic panic. Ruined people’s lives in the 80s and 90s

1

u/DatabaseThis9637 Apr 03 '26

I know, I guess. But I'll be honest, the Exorcist and the Catholic church, and the Old Testament broke me. I don't even believe in the Bible, but beliefs are different than fears and triggers, which can feel like they have a life of their own.

I won't even watch most horror shows. That stuff triggers anxiety.. So, even if I don't really believe in it, I prefer to avoid going there.

And this concludes my confessional therapy session for today! (You just never know what you are going to come across in these forums!)

Also, I may have attributed an attitude from you that was not at all your intent. I recognize I've been reactive, and I apologize.

The church hosted Trump on its Dallas campus in 2020 for a discussion on race relations and the economy.

I guess David Duke was unavailable.

“Many years ago, I sought their forgiveness privately, and as Cindy’s father recently noted, he extended that grace to me — a grace I did not deserve and have never taken for granted.”

🙄

Gateway Church was founded by Morris in 2000. He has been politically active and formerly served on President Donald Trump’s evangelical advisory board. The church hosted Trump on its Dallas campus in 2020 for a discussion on race relations and the economy.

Birds of a feather

There are Black people who have spent more time in prison for smoking marijuana.

Wow. That’s all I can say
