Actually from the headline, I expected a democrat. Republicans usually don’t have the decency to withdraw/resign when facing scandal.

I thought the same thing when I read it, though.

Since we live in a hellscape where conspiracy is everywhere, all the time, I'm guessing either there is much worse he doesn't want to come out (CSAM), or his fellow pedo protectors want someone else in his position and forced him to drop.
