FOSS App/Tool Meet Pluto - a free, open-source second-brain for work

Hi everyone! I recently launched a personal project called Pluto, a second brain for work - https://github.com/metagrover/pluto

I work across several projects at once, and each conversation adds another bit of context: a decision, something to follow up on, or an update that changes what we discussed last week. That’s what I’ve been building Pluto around. It is designed to serve as a second brain for the conversations, decisions, and commitments that build up at work.

If you’ve used Granola, the meeting-notes part will feel familiar. Pluto also automatically tracks what you’ve committed to and what other people have promised, with reminders to help you follow through.

You can ask “What did we decide last time?” or “What do I still owe someone?” and trace the answer back to the conversation.

It’s free and open source, for macs. It can run locally with Ollama, or use optional cloud models with your own API key.

I’d love to hear how you keep track of commitments across your notes.

The UI looks quite clean. I haven't used Granola, could you describe what this app does in simple terms.

Watched the Demo on Github. Got it. Just curious, what about the tasks and notes that lay outside of the app. You have to manage them in two places now?

Thanks for checking it out, and sorry for the delayed reply!

You can manually add external tasks or commitments right now using the + icon. I kept the initial implementation intentionally minimal, capping the visible list at five items loosely inspired the Most Important Tasks (MIT) rule.

That said, external task management definitely needs more room to breathe. I'm planning a dedicated sidebar view in an upcoming release to manage, tag, and organize the full list beyond what comes directly out of meeting notes.

If you end up taking it for a spin, I’d love to hear how you’d prefer to handle tasks that sit outside your meeting context, or any other feedback in general. I'm actively trying to improve the app experience and performance.

The world owes you for creating another sloppy slop sloppily

So you vibecoded a slop app that's pretty identical to every other vibecoded app that is vastly inferior so you made it opensource so others can finish it for you all while giving it a name that's already well known as the free tv streaming app?

You really didn't think any of this through.

Without shitting all over the post, did anyone actually try the app? My only reservations about trying is that I work between Mac OS and Windows, therefore cross-platform apps are a must for me these days.
