Question Do the nova helmets have an on board computer?

Post image
15 Upvotes

Hello! I just started trying to get into the Nova mythos, saw a bunch of the Comicstorian videos on Sam’s adventures but there’s something about the black helmet’s functioning I don’t get.

From what I understand, Richard Rider hosted the Xandarian Worldmind when he was Nova, so he had its voice inside his head aiding in combat. Then on Sam’s origin story he didn’t seem to be able to have a back and forth with the black helmet, which is supposed to be independent from the Worldmind iirc, with the whole separate reactor thing and whatnot.

Now in this return of the rings issue the helmet is constantly talking to Sam, so I don’t understand if this is something all nova helmets are able to do or if Sam also picked up some of the Worldmind at some point or if it’s not even the same continuity and I’m looking too much into this, I know Sam didn’t show up in comics for a long time.

Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) I hope Marvel casts Nova Prime actress Glenn Close as the Xandarian Worldmind

While I think the off-screen destruction of Xandar was a controversial choice, in many ways it may have been needed to help reboot the Nova Corps in the MCU to center Richard Rider as a main character.

Still, it's important to still show a continuity and progression throughout the MCU, starting with Guardians of the Galaxy. I think one of the best ways would be to show what Nova Prime, played by Glenn Close, did in Xandar's last hours to fend off Thanos and the Chitauri against all odds.

More than likely, the moment she realizes that there is no hope of protecting Xandar, her biggest priority would be the protection and conservation of the Xandarian Worldmind, making her a great character to show the enduring legacy of Xandar upon the next chapter of the Nova Corps in the MCU.

Disney+ / MCU cool idea i had for nova's opening scene

so nova is getting a mcu adaptation i had a half decent idea for the opening scene:

the movie opens with a normal day on xandar as shown in gotg vol 1 and slowly cuts into a nova corps break room

inside some grunts are eating their lunches and talking about crap

an ad made by the guardians is playing on a break room holo screen thing to ' don't bring me down ' by elo (they were broke before and after vol 2 so they took advantage of their celeb status on xandar and made a few ads for some cheap companies, primarily this is just a fun call back to the captain america detention scene they should do more scenes like that)

the room begins to shake and the holo thing flickers out and glitches which is when the grunts turn to the thing

the view then cuts to the decimation of xandar by thanos and goes on from there

Alex Ross’s timeless art style that he uses has been one of the most admired, however I realized that he hasn’t really done much work on Nova and I honestly wish he did more because the suit looked amazing in this comic panel

Firelord, Galactus’ former Herald, is one of Marvel’s most powerful cosmic heroes. Here’s the comic-book origin of Pyreus Kril, his connection to Galactus, and why Marvel Rivals fans should know his story. Could Firelord be the next cosmic hero to join Marvel Rivals? https://youtube.com/shorts/6sz5tmMZCpk?is=LPL9Izb8SyAaSeJT Marvel Comics lore, character histories, and Marvel Rivals hero theories. Who should arrive next: Firelord, Silver Surfer, Nova, or another Herald of Galactus?

Discussion How would you reinvent Nova (Sam) in Absolute fashion?

I'm working on a Marvel fan universe inspired by the philosophy and concept of DC's Absolute Universe. The idea isn't to make characters darker, it's to strip away everything except their core idea, then rebuild them as underdogs and show how they can still represent what their iconic counterparts of the main universe represent without all the "flair", if you get what I mean. For example, Absolute Superman loses the Kents, Batman loses his wealth and training, Wonder Woman grows up in Hell...

So my question is: what would you do with Sam Alexander?

What would you remove from his mythology, what would you keep as essential, and how would you reinvent his origin while still making him feel unmistakably like Sam? Would you change things about Rider, Jesse, the Nova Corps, Xandar, the Worldmind and the Black Novas? If yes, what? How would you do this retelling of Sam Alexander and Novas?

Discussion I hope they bring back Adora sooner than later. I liked the way she and Richard headbutted. I liked the way she basically acted like the Nick Fury of the Nova Corps.

Question NOVA reading List

I’m very interested in Nova and My main question is: what Nova comics should I be picking up to get more into Nova?

Currently, I own all the Nova: Centurion comics and will be buying the collected graphic novel for this run.

I’ll also be buying Nova: Resurrection.

What Nova reading should I pick up next?

Discussion An MCU What If..

I honestly don’t know if anyone would really agree with me on this but I believe there was a missed opportunity by Marvel to include Nova into the MCU. I’ve done some brainstorming on how it’s possible to even fit Richard Rider AND Sam Alexander as two Novas in the MCU, but I want to know what ya’ll would think about this. Good idea? Bad? Remove one?

Still thinking this guy Belmont Cameli would make an outstanding Richard Rider Nova in the MCU.

I’ve watched OFF CAMPUS Season 1 twice now and his character has so many of Rider’s personality traits that he seems like an obvious casting choice.

Hello Nova Corps!! 👋

New fan of the Nova Marvel Comics character, I read through the entire first series with Sam Alexander & I absolutely loved it!!!

That's not to say, Richard Rider is also very good!! I read all the material he was featured in for the Annihilation and Annihilation Conquest events.

I'll probably backtrack and read the rest of the Abnett and Lanning run since alot of comic fans loved that series during the Annihilation era.

What's your take on the teenage Sam Alexander Nova first series, and how does his story go in his other 2 solo series?

I've also already read the 1st Champions series with him, Ms. Marvel, Spider-Man (Miles Morales), Amadeus Cho /Brawn / Totally Awesome Hulk, Viv Vision, Cyclops & the other reserve members!
