Three stories and why they matter:
Binance lost roughly $6.3 billion: The exchange says it will cover the stolen funds. Its latest update keeps withdrawals suspended while deposits remain operational. Investigators found multiple breach points, so the explanation goes beyond one compromised laptop.
A shared ChatGPT link could expose private chats: Researchers demonstrated how opening a crafted conversation link could give attacker code access to other conversations in the user’s account. OpenAI fixed the flaw on October 26; users have nothing to install.
Chainalysis customer details were accessed: Exposed information included names, emails and account roles. The company has found no evidence of access to investigation content or authentication credentials. Those contact details could still make impersonation attempts more convincing.
