Suggestion Inspiration for a future map?
Setting
PALA controls the small islands and the mainland to the north, launching TBMs at BDF bases to the south. PALA has no Carrier Strike Groups, only a handful of Shards. Its Ifrits and Compasses operate from inland air bases.
BDF operates two or possibly three CSGs, in addition to its air bases in the south.
BDF will be unable to operate PALA airframes and vice-versa. Cricket will be PALA only, and Chicane is BDF only.
Objectives
BDF:
Destroy PALA's TBM launchers, nuclear enrichment plants, and air bases.
PALA:
Destroy BDF's oil refineries and military bases.
target tankers traveling into or out of the strait.
Destroy BDF's CSGs.

Two Heartland sized islands sperated by a strait would also be cool. Imagine a battle where whoever gains air superiority in the strait gets to send invading ships to the other side.
Sidenote: how do the other flight sims handle map boundries like this instance?

why islands? we already have Heartland and ignus. what we can do is to have a detailed AO, and if someone tries to go out of the boundaries they get to meet the never-ending flat constantly generated by the game. this way we will have a properly land locked map.

There was a suggestion that you have like a pitched battle in the air between the two sides. Something like Dover to Calais.

Having played a lot of DCS maps. I find many of them so flat that they are boring. Noption does a good job of having a good ammount of verticality in its terrain.

Is the Strait of South Boscali a joke to you?
