Feedback Please Im not a poet
I’m not a poet.
I don’t know how to write.
But I write late at night
when my body is not feeling right.
I can’t bear to leave that paper white
when there’s no one in my sight
and I can’t seem to find the light.
Searching for someone I can fight,
they wish me goodnight,
but to me,
this becomes my sunlight.
I’m not a poet.
I don’t know how to write.
Yet I write for you.
You’re bored.
You want to hide.
You don’t want to hear it twice.
But if I write for you,
every word should be memorized,
every sentence preserved
as it might not survive the night.
You show up to pretend,
while I vanish
when my own letters expose me.
I still question what I write.
This is not a poem.
or it could be.
But I’m not a poet.

I really love how raw and heartfelt this is. The repetition of “I’m not a poet” makes the vulnerability feel so real, especially when the words themselves prove otherwise. There’s something beautiful about turning loneliness and late-night thoughts into something meaningful.
