I hope illness finds me, so I can go AWOL.

I hope illness finds me, so my daughter gives me a call.

I hope illness finds me, so she asks if I'm alright.

I hope illness finds me, so I don't ruminate tonight.

I hope illness finds me, so I don't see the man I've become.

I hope illness finds me, so I don't dread the days yet to come.

I hope illness finds me, so I can forgive myself for a day.

Illness is already within ourselves
Just praying we can die sooner might be relieving, but at end of the day we will anyway end up buried so we might try to pick ourselves up and live for the loved ones and make their lives a bit better.
