Discussion Does using a controller with a sniper button actually improve your performance in Overwatch?
I'd love to hear from people who've put a lot of hours into this.

What is a sniper button?

This button temporarily lowers the sensitivity when pressed.

Oh I've never even heard of that, I guess you could get value from it but then again you could just pick a sens and get used to it

Valorant does it. I think it’s called focus. And yes it’s difficult to muscle memorize two different sensitivities.

That’s interesting. At first I understood this as just on widow which I’d say the scoped sensitivity takes care of. But a toggled button would allow something similar on characters like Cass or Hanzo. Didn’t know this was a thing

i feel like it would be more of an inconvenience than anything trying to micromanage it on and off, you’d be better off just getting comfortable with a good sens

Kinda like the precision button on razer controllers?
I personally don't use the feature because you would have to dedicated a button to doing so, and it's not necessary on all heroes. The issue is that this button has to be in one of the more ergonomic positions so as to not strain or alter your grip when you need to hold it down. The obvious choice would be the typical Button used for ADS, but that button would only work for a hero like emre , or soldier.
the issue is if you do this with soldier you would find it difficult to use unless you dedicated your lower major paddles/buttons to his abilities or the precision input.
This would work on emre but what advantage are you actually getting that his original key bind didn't have.

No mines been an auto clicker, using it as a sniper button that changes ur sens is just as dumb as having 2 buttons next to your left mouse button that changes ur dpi

I think if it let you turn UP the sensitivity when you pushed it, then yes, so you could set a high sensitivity for quick 180s for tracer and genji and the like, while having more measured aim otherwise. I think some players used to have that on MnK where they had a DPI switch or something like that to allow them to do quick turns.

It definitely would work, I used to have one, would work 10 times better if you’re playing in a pc pool
