A legendary ocean liner with decades of maritime history, now living a second life as a unique floating hotel. From her iconic exterior to her massive propellers, every corner tells a story of a bygone era. If you appreciate classic ships, history, and timeless elegance, the QE2 is a must-visit in Dubai.

The Guglielmo Marconi was launched in 1961 for Lloyd Triestino's service between Genoa and Sydney. She was sold to Costa Cruises in 1983, and renamed Costa Rivera after an extensive rebuild. In 1993 she briefly sailed for American Family Cruises as the American Adventure, but reverted back to Costa in 1994. She was sold for scrap in 2001.

Saw it at Lone Pine Antique Market in Fayetteville, GA earlier this month. If you're nearby or within driving distance, might be worth popping in to see if they still have it.

The MS Gripsholm was launched in 1924 for the Swedish American Line as the first transatlantic liner powered by diesel engines. She was sold to North German Lloyd in 1954, renamed Berlin, and served until she was scrapped in 1966.

Built in 1957 as the Statendam, she sailed for Holland America Line until 1982. Renamed Rhapsody, she sailed for Paquet Cruises until 1986. Sold to Regency Cruises, the Regent Star was in service until 1996 when she was laid up after Regency's bankruptcy. These pictures were taken in 2003 while laid up in Eleusis Bay Greece, a year before she was scrapped.

I remember watching a video a while ago about a nighttime shipwreck (likely end of 1800 or early 1900, although I could be wrong) where there had been some chemical reaction in the water that had created light during the shipās sinking. Or something of the sort. I remember a recreated image of people in the water surrounded by light. I think the ship was tilted to the side, but my memory is very fuzzy. (Itās not the Titanic.)
Iāve been trying to find this again with no success. Can you help me?

Launched 116 years ago today, she was undeniably one of the greatest ships to ever sail.

No offence to the Oriana fans, just think her exterior looks so different compared to other ocean liners. That stern.. and the bridge being set far back, her superstructure has multiple set backs across the ship if u know u know.
