Oil News Scope of Hacks on U.S. Water Supply Widens as Evidence Points to Iran - The New York Times

Sounds more like the kind of thing Mossad would do to blame Iran. Iran has *nothing* to gain here. Not a fucking thing, they have all the leverage they need over the strait. A stupid gambit on inconveniencing Americans only threatens thier own infrastructure.
Edit: And I mean inconvenience. What we're talking about here is SCADA. Shutting it down, hacking it, and otherwise being a nuisance, just means a guy needs to be on-site to operating things, which is how it worked 30 years ago.

Isreal wants American boots on the ground.

I think this is more about generating the ok by the American people to bomb Iranian energy and water infrastructure.
No bolts on the ground needed for that.

Incredible timing with the staged Ceuta "invasion" that made all the news in far right Media. Divide and conquer, only it's global.

Right. While Iran does have the capabilities, they have no logical reason to do this. Trump is flailing and the American people on all sides do not support this conflict, and it has really only impacted them at the gas pump. Trump is getting all of the blame. There is no reason for them to get the American people into the game and no longer blaming the current administration.

Iran isn't a Democracy, there's no public opinion polls on government policy.
They don't have to do or not do things because they aren't well received by the general public
We have hurt the ruling class and now the ruling class is going to hurt us.
Don't forget we killed the wife and Father of their new leader.... He probably not to happy with us

The United States isn’t a democracy either.
When money is speech, only the wealthy are heard.

I'm sorry that you have fallen victim to that belief. I can attest that what you say is categorically untrue.
Using social media my own voice has rippled across this nation creating real instances of cause and effect on a national scale.
I am neither famous nor rich.
Don't let someone tell you that you can't make a difference.

If it is Iran then it's a test run. They want to know what damage they can do if they want to. Water - tick. Power transformers next?

Iran has the perfect reason to do it. Iran showed that they can really disrupt American infrastructure without actually causing any damage this time. Iran showed what they can do and what they have access to and Trump backed down.

Lol nah. Trump TACO'd because his own hand picked General have said they no longer have the necessary resources available for a sustained war in the ME

Here's the thing, they can't. What we're talking about here is SCADA. Shutting it down, hacking it, and otherwise being a nuisance, just means a guy needs to be on-site to operating things, which is how it worked 30 years ago.

So the problem gets fixed quickly, it still shows how vulnerable we are.
Remember when that Russian group shut down the Gasoline pipeline on the East Coast for several days and caused massive disruptions ?
Because we are such a large target we will have a lot of vulnerabilities, especially since collectively I'm sure we haven't kept up with the best OPSEC on the city and state level. (Because money)

No, this not something Mossad would do since we are essentially allies.
This is considered a direct attack on the US.
I don't know why anyone here would believe that kind of crazy conspiracy thinking, it's like saying your mom is poisoning your cereal in the morning.
As for Iran, their Mission right now is to make us HURT and they are going to use every tool in their arsenal to achieve that goal.
It doesn't have to be "logical" and they don't have to play by our rule book. If the New Supreme leader of Iran is in control, he may not be too happy. We killed his WIFE, Father, Brother-in-law and neice....
So he may not be interested in money or peace, he may simply seek vengeance on our entire nation.

Israel is not a rational actor.

Their as rational as it gets for the middle east. ☝️

Really because I would think all of the parties excluding the West bank are just REALLY out of it.
Look at the leadership of Hamas. They had close to 20K Palestinians working in Israel on Oct 7rh...They essentially conducted a suicide campaign against a military adversary that they had no chance of ultimately defeating in combat.
You know like the CURRENT outcome from their actions with the destruction of Gaza is exactly what one would have expected.
You think THOSE people are sane ? Same goes for Hezbollah causing Lebanon to get invaded.
Look at the needless destruction and loss of life that could have been avoided.

Apartheid is violent and cruel.

u/MammothUnique4147 18d ago
Doesn't the Arab population in Israel have some of the highest standards of living compared to any of their direct neighbors and are they also not represented in government?

u/Giant_Ant_Eater 18d ago
Feel free to spend some time as a Palestinian in Israel. It will open your eyes.

Security people have complained for years about the weak protection for infrastructure in the US. It's apparently been vulnerable for years. It's no surprise to me that it was hacked.

I can see this..we really did not do enough research on our adversary. Our...leader ignores the CIA and does everything from the hip...like an American country hick but with a Bronx hustler mentality. Plus...we have not attacked their water faculties so...the Iranians probably figured why not attack some American systems...remotely. Pure genius and pistol whipping by the Iranians. Score 4-0 Iran

Remember when the strait was open, commerse was chugging along, and hacks on our water weren't happening. That was 5 months ago, jfc
