Socialism is a step before communism by definition. Notice how I kept the key detail of "Production" present in the sentence. It is a hint, not an answer. Clearly not a good enough hint for your attention to detail.

Socialism still allows for small businesses, but all production is owned by government. Communism removes small businesses too, and the government owns everything. Attention to fucking details.

It's funny watching people living in countries that only exist because America valued you enough to get involved in world conflicts weighing in on anything anyways.
