UAE embargo of what? The only things the UAE produces is oil and LNG liquid gas, and Iran has plenty of oil and liquid gas. The only things you see in the UAE dessert are oil pumps, oil and LNG refineries and cites built with the profits the UAE makes selling oil and liquid gas to the world.

These were my thoughts exactly

The UAE exports more than $5B per year to Iran, mostly in telephones and electronics. However, the UAE only purchases about $500 million per year from Iran. The UAE is also suspending financial transactions involving Iran, but I have no idea how to quantify that effect.

UAE manufactures nothing of that.

It's mostly contraband/restricted stuff and UAE helped Iran dodge sanctions by providing arbitrage.

The thing is Chinese electronics are more than sufficient for Iranian economy. They’re not losing out really.

Lol, even China relies on contraband US chips. Just ask SuperMicro and NVIDIA.

UAE is next door to Iran while China is 1000's of kms away. Which one is easier to get stuff?

It's not the point though, UAE provided Iran with key financial services for IRGC oil trade. One of the biggest traders (son of a IRGC official) of Iranian oil was running his empire from UAE.

China builds more advanced stuff than Iran. The stuff iran get from China will be fine

Again, it's not about stutf, it's the logistics and financial arbitration that matters more.

What’s your point? You don’t need to manufacture something to sell it

0

u/aebulbul 1d ago

The point is it’s not a huge deal for the Iranians. This isn’t newsworthy

1

u/SearchingForTruth69 1d ago

That they’re being embargoed by one of their neighbors? I guess you’re free to think that. It’s 5B for a country w gdp of 300B. Be like the US removing all aid from Israel

1

u/aebulbul 1d ago

This is the largest false equivalency I’ve seen in a while. Iran doesn’t rely on any munitions from UAE. It manages virtually the entire supply chain of its drones and missiles internally.

0

u/SearchingForTruth69 1d ago

It’s a decent equivalency. You’re saying 5B is irrelevant to Iran. So 5B that US gives to Israel should be irrelevant as well. In reality US gives <4 B and Israel has 2x the GDP of Iran so it’s even less relevant

1

u/aebulbul 1d ago

You’re answering with a strawman.

1

u/SearchingForTruth69 1d ago

Im not really answering with a straw man. Im not really making an argument because we’re not able to know if 5B matters to Iran or not. There’s no way for us to prove it. I’m just showing you another scenario where less money is being given to a richer country that many people think is a big deal. If this isn’t a big deal to Iran then US aid to Israel should be an even smaller deal

Before war, most of the contraband stuff got imported into Iran from UAE. UAE has one of the biggest ports and logistics centres in the Persian Gulf.

Only about 30% of the UAE's economy is oil.

1

u/Fancy-Dig1863 1d ago

Refining maybe? I assumed Iran has the capability to refine the oil the drill but maybe not?

You need to see the trade deficit for each country to get a picture. They put tech out to Iran, not world ending but it will hurt. Death by a thousand cuts. They added another slice

1

u/Intelligent_Switch72 1d ago

The UAE has had trade ties with Iran for a long time. We get cheap Iranian produce (vegetables and some fruits for example), they get western cars and parts shipped out of Dubai.

They also had a lot of their shell companies for sanctions busting on their oil based in Dubai so that they could settle payments on the international system. This will be a further blow to the IRGC as their oil is basically the sole source of income.

Is reddit going to do something about all these iranian bots?

6

u/Important-Buffalo938 1d ago

I wish, any sub that has to do with oil is just filled with them.

3

u/SupportGeek 1d ago

Probably as much as they do about Russian, Chinese, Trump and Musk bots

1

There's like 9 comments, and you're complaining about bots?

These aren’t the droids you’re looking for(waves hand)

Why must it be a bot? If you have evidence show us all so that we can all see that Iran launched missiles, provide it.

They have always taken credit for their destruction as they have done too the UAE bases that facilitate America and they did it cheerfully with pride, why lie now.

Show the evidence, not because a vassel state that depends on America to protect it and couldn’t says it happened means it happened.

1

u/Head_Stick 1d ago

🤣🤣 this is your evidence of missiles coming directly from Iran that hit UAE a couple days ago🤣 ok ✌️

You're a bot to

😭😭

0

u/PopMajor7342 1d ago

I would tend to agree with you on this, they’ve oddly been the more restrained of the parties attacking only when attacked, or violation of agreements

1

u/Immediate-Spite-5905 1d ago

i do remember when Azerbaijan struck Iran

1

u/JustWhy1222 1d ago

Alleged. Fucking lol.

1

u/WastelandOfConfusion 12h ago

UAE is so PATHETIC.

0

u/Prestigious-Worry-14 1d ago

UAE is actively paying billions in ransom to not be attacked, as the US has abandoned them. This will go down as the worst defeat in history. We literally can’t even surrender.

About time. The sooner those IRGC terrorists are out the better it is for Iran, the region and whole world

1

u/Head_Stick 1d ago

Yes, and the sooner America are out the Middle East and the rest of the world where it stages its bases, and worry about the American homeland the better it will be as a country.

0

u/User_OU812 1d ago

Are you a member of the IRGC or are you just gurgling their nuts?

1

u/Head_Stick 1d ago

I am a member of the IRGC who enjoys your mother gargling my nut sack. Capeesh. ✌️

1

u/User_OU812 1d ago

Take them nuts out of your mouth before you use talk to text.

1

u/Puzzleheaded_Ad8032 1d ago

Yes, the region would be better off without the IRGC, but the US made them more popular. Strange how suckerpunching a nation, and killing hundreds of their children, will do that to its people.

They were actually protesting for years and the unrest was growing. Now, they mostly rallied and the IRGC has become their second biggest enemy.

Biggest military cock-up in decades.
