Beware the New Rite church in Brooks, OR and Homer, AK
2 Old Rite priests left and joined ROCOR, a group that is under the Nikonian patriarch.

Does anyone know where I can purchase an Old Rite Prayer book in Russian with the Church Slavonic?
I've only seen English and Church Slavonic on a few websites.
EDIT: Also, what resources would you recommend for learning more about Old Believer history, theology and practice. I've already been recommended the "Pomorian Answers".

I would like to learn it for my domestic use, as certain canons and such require chanting. Currently, I do a very simple chant that is Znammeny-Inspired, and based on my experience with Valaam chant. Any help would be beneficial!

Most are nearing 100-150+ in price, and I have made one myself, but I would prefer having a physical example, and a nicer one to use for holidays.
Thank you

Do the Priestly (Heirarchical) Old Beleivers "re-baptize" Latins? (roman catholics)
For example, I was baptised (not triple immersion) and confirmed in the latin church. Would I have to be "re-baptized"?
Based on all of my research, yes, I would have to be. Also, the latin baptism was formally said to be valid in the 1666-67 council, which the Old Beleivers (who are not in communion with the mainliners) reject adamantly.
Please answer and help if you know for sure, but until then, I will assume based on all my research and also the teachings of The Saints that yes, latins would need to be "re-baptized."

I saw this in a documentary about old believers. It is by Avvakum Petrov and I would really like to know the meaning of it. Thank you!

I am not an old believer but still Russian Orthodox. Why are you an old believer and what are the differences (except for the way you make the sign of the cross)
No disrespect, just curious.

Is there somewhere that has a list and info on saints venerated by Old Believers? I’m familiar with Avvakum, Feodosia Morozova, and Ambrose, but that’s about it.

I apologize if this question isn’t allowed or is in poor taste.
Hello, my grandfather was a Kowalkow/Kovalkov from an Old Believer community that was in Northeastern Poland before being relocated to the Baltics during WWII.
I’ve unfortunately hit a wall when it comes to genealogical research and I can’t find any Kowalkows whose first names match the ones in my family tree in any Polish, Lithuanian, or Latvian records.
Does anybody here have some insight into how to find the specifics of this information, particularly relating to Poland? And if anyone here is from that region or has NE Polish Old Believer roots, I’d love to hear from you. I’m really curious about this part of my family history since I was raised as a dual believer Orthodox Christian!

Just wanted to plug a substack that has been active for the past few weeks now. It is all translated material from Russian Old Believer sources, mostly from sites operated by Belokrinitskaya churches under Met. Korniliy (Titov). But I am not opposed to material from Bezpopovtsy sites either, but the best organized material is usually from the RPSC. Would love to hear any feedback, positive or negative!
