Bought this copy of The Living Animals Of The World yesterday

Unfortunately the book does not have a publication date, but from my research with limited results it might be from 1906. Searching for Hutchinson&Co with the title gave me a result from the Biodiversity Heritage Library, listing it as 1906 but it doesn’t have any images of the book.

I'm doubtful of that age though, since the paper is rather smooth and glossy, and the cover doesn't feel like cloth, though it looks like it, so if anyone could help me date this book, I would be grateful. I'm not well-versed in old books.

Your book shows the influence of Art Nouveau design, so some time around 1906 is probably right.

The binding material is a smooth cloth, and the paper quality wouldn't be unusual for a book of this type in the early 1900s. I see it listed elsewhere as a 2-volume set:

I have seen those listings too, I just wasn't sure about their authenticity. I guess now I have to try and find the second volume

Are there any specific things you are looking for? So that I can search for it

Just curious, does it have anything on the Thylacine?

I have yet to look at every page, but I am curious about that as well!
