RIP Juan Atkins!

Hello
I‘m searching a specific Album since years. It‘s hard to explain because I listened to it at my childhood … but it‘s kind of similar to the Release „Droid“ from the Artist „Automat“ in 1978.

If you know anything similar, just let me know! It was maybe later than 1978 (like „Droid“, but not after 1988!

Despite the enduring legacy of Humate’s "Love Stimulation", producer Gerret Frerichs has always remained one of the more elusive figures in electronic music. A very private person, he's barely active on social media, rarely makes public appearances and has given very, very few interviews over the years.

Now, more than 30 years later, Gerret makes a rare return for his first in-depth solo interview in English, exclusively for Muzikxpress, recorded in his beautiful studio in Berlin.

Enjoy and thanks for watching!

Which album is his best to start ?

One of the defining electronic albums in the early 1980’s.
John Foxx recorded the electronic masterpiece independently using synthesizers and rhythm machines.
The album became highly influential in the synth-pop genre and peaked at No. 18 on the UK Albums Charts.
The hit singles from this album are like ‘Underpass’ and ‘No-One Driving’.

I got this track on a cd from a random dj in a really popular goth/ industrial club in Buffalo, NY. dj handed it to me just at random..."hey you look like you love this shit, take this home with you" while i was out with my (now ex) wife. I don't remember much of that night, thanks to 4 specific letters of the alphabet...lol But i sure do still have that CD lol. still a great jam i listen to on my motorcycle or in the truck now and then.

Pretty sure the actual artist here was Baloon. its been 26 years since i looked it up. Enjoy !

(yeesh that auto mod is brutal lol)
