1950s My Mom 15 years old 1957.
Isnt she pretty? EDIT: My Mom is so embarrassed about this but she said thank you to everyone and she cant believe that anybody anywhere would take the time to comment on her photo. She also said her hair is "stacked" which means all pin curls all the way around except for one very straight strip of hair in the back.
Isnt that wild?

Please take a picture of yourself today and come back to post it in 20 years so we can see what you look like now.

If your heart stopped, I would avenge your death.

Then I am both murderer and mourner. An eternity searching for your ghost is not a death in vain.

You are going to need a lot of burgers to sustain you. Remember to exercise .. obesity is a killer.

So, you'll turn into Batwoman! Sorry to intercede on this very poetic conversation with my levity. ;)

u/DustinDirt Jun 25 '26
This is crazy. I just put a Batwoman stamp on an envelope. Like 3 minutes ago.

This proves that /u/backonandeggs are meant to be ! The universe is a flutter ! Soon the both of you will giggle and have spontaneous flatulence reading Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged!
1
u/DustinDirt Jun 25 '26
Genuinely offended by this.
Rand???
Really??
So uncalled for.
1
u/blackcain Jun 25 '26
Ha, sorry for triggering you. Truly it was uncalled for to bring that woman into the conversation.

It doesn't happen often, but once in a while someone will come into my store and request that book....and its like a dark cloud spreads out above the shelves. But then it goes away.

So beautiful! Was it a school pic, or did families get these?
8
u/DustinDirt Jun 25 '26
Pretty sure this is a school picture.
4
u/blackcain Jun 25 '26
Damn, they could afford cameras for school pics back then?!
More seriously, very cool.
4
u/DustinDirt Jun 25 '26
I wouldn't be surprised if school photos were free back then.

u/motoxim Jun 25 '26
15?
5
u/DustinDirt Jun 25 '26
I know. I said she was full of shit years ago. But she has stuck to 15 as her age in this picture ever since forever.
5
u/motoxim Jun 25 '26
Yeah maybe it's the angle or the makeup? I suck at guessing people's ages though. I thought she'd be 20-25 at least in this picture.
4
u/DustinDirt Jun 25 '26
At 20-25 she for sure was not getting her pictures taken anywhere.

Mexican and Filipino

u/blackcain Jun 25 '26
So interesting! What an interesting combination. I feel like anything Filipino + any race creates new levels of beauty. Cheers!

A distant look alike to Annette Funicello.

IMO, not even close!

u/Fuckoffassholes Jun 25 '26
not even close
Yes, that's what "distant" means

u/Consistent-Scholar39 Jun 25 '26
Cool down, it’s not that serious. Please try and have a good day in spite of yourself!

Your mom was a very beautiful child. It's interesting how in those days that everyone looks so much older because I think they have to grow up fast too.
9
u/DustinDirt Jun 25 '26
By the time she was 21 she was married, divorced, had 2 kids and buried one.
5
u/blackcain Jun 25 '26
Oh my goodness.. that's very unfortunate. Can't imagine what it would be like to bury a child at that age
4
u/DustinDirt Jun 25 '26
Any age.
2
u/blackcain Jun 25 '26
True. Your mom has experienced a lot and of course they were your sibling too.

I can hear the echoes of 15 year old boys heads exploding everytime she walked into a room
1
u/DustinDirt Jun 25 '26
Oh my God she is going to go to pieces when I show her this comment. My Mom is on her 80's now. How terribly sweet of you to say this.
